Michael,
Words cannot even begin to explain the emotions I am feeling right now. I would do anything just to hug you one more time. Your faith in God was one of the most inspiring things I have ever witnessed. Even though right now I don’t have the words to explain why God would let something like this happen, I have faith that He has a bigger plan for both of us.
As painful as it is to write this, I would never have wanted to love you any less. You were the easiest person ever to love, you have the kindest heart and the most caring soul. I remember asking you just last weekend what leading a relationship looked like to you, and you told me it looked like putting my needs before your own. You never once failed to do that in anything you did. You were always willing to sacrifice yourself if it meant you got to help other people.
I can’t believe that FaceTime call on Sunday would be the last time I ever talk to you. You were the most inspiring marine. I loved watching how fulfilled you were and the joy that it brought you. Even when you were tasked with doing unimaginable things, I know you faced them with your head held high, because that is the kind of person you are.
I know you are in a better place with Jesus, and I can’t wait to see you again someday.
Love is not a strong enough word to describe how much I love you. Psalm 23:4 by @gwenmarso.13
