A new era for Greater Washington Roundnet. After 2.5 years of unofficial community building, player training, and heaps of fun times, we proudly present: the GWR Club!

Open to all levels and roundnet backgrounds, this club structure will allow our community to continue fostering player growth and also provide a clear pathway for development, squad selections, creating a home in Roundnet for players across the DMV.

What if you don’t want to be a club member? That’s ok! In fact, your experience with GWR in 2024 should be similar to what you experienced in 2023. Plus, you will have the option to become a member of the GWR Club at a later time if you change your mind.

Above all, establishing a formalized Roundnet Club is an important step toward developing a sustainable and accessible structure for players of all backgrounds and levels to play roundnet with a clearer pathway for progression as both a player and a community member. by @gwroundnet

GWR June Informal Individual Tournament Recap.

We had 25 Advanced players and 11 Beginner/Intermediate players come to Nottoway Park. It was a good day of competitive fun amongst friends from pickup and some new GWR faces!

The final 4 for the advanced division was Hampton, Brooks, Jon, and Henry. Hampton taking 1st place! Everyone in the advanced division was competing not just for the win, but for their USAR elo. As this tournament was USAR sanctioned.

The final 4 for the beginner/intermediate division was Phong, Mihir, Jamie, and Nicole. Phong taking the gold!

It was a fun day! Hope to see more of these numbers at local events in the future.

Thank you Ben, for taking these awesome photos! by @gwroundnet

Farewell Liam, the west coast just picked up a good one! This week we sent off long-time anchor of the Baltimore and GWR crew Liam Keegan the only way he knew how: a chaotic 4v4 2-net pickup. We hope you have a lot more room to roam in AZ. by @gwroundnet
