GW Engineering was the proud host of the 2026 Clark Scholars Program Network Summit!

After this inspiring weekend, we’re reflecting on the incredible impact these sophomore scholars from across 11 schools made—both in the community and with each other.

“Even though we all come from different backgrounds and attend different universities, it was nice seeing how much we could relate to one another, especially when it came to our goals and the opportunities we’re working towards,” said Jason Azumah, an electrical engineering major at GW Engineering.

It’s #NationalNanotechnologyDay, and we’re going inside GW Engineering’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering to explore innovation happening at the nanoscale.

In GW’s Nanofabrication & Imaging Center, Associate Professor Gina Adam and her research team work on emerging nanoelectronic devices and technologies that could help shape the future of computing.

Because sometimes, changing the world starts with engineering something you can’t even see with the naked eye. 👀

What happens when partners across a food system work together to build a more reliable model for local school meals? This summer, GFI and researchers from @gwuengineering and @gwucolumbian visited Haiti’s Central Plateau to see this model firsthand and learn directly from our partner organizations in the Crisis-Resilient School Meals: Haiti Pilot. Through this collaboration, we are exploring how investments in farmers, schools, and local infrastructure can help deliver food from local farmers to 48,000 students as nutritious school meals while strengthening the food system, supporting communities and creating economic opportunities for the future.

This work would not be possible without our incredible partners; @acceso_org, @summitsedu, @wckitchen, @hfsalliance, and Chibas. Together, the CRSM pilot is testing what a new model for school meals could look like in Haiti’s Central Plateau – one that strengthens local agriculture, improves school meals, and builds greater resilience for communities across Haiti.

Last week, we hosted 40 students and teachers from the @coolidgeearlycollegeacademy in @dcpublicschools who had the opportunity to:

🌉 Engage in hands-on experiential learning with @gwuengineering
🗣️ Sharpen and practice real skills for communicating and networking
🫱🏽‍🫲🏿 Meet directly with GW faculty, staff, and students about career interests and dreams
📝 Learn how they could become a GW student
💙 Spend a day in the life of a Rev!

We built bridges, literally and figuratively. What a wonderful day spent with these student scholars!

What do engineering, art, and a Hell's Kitchen chef have in common?

TOMORROW, @_chefleigh joins us for a special guest presentation on the science and creativity of culinary arts! You might know her from Season 22 of Hell's Kitchen, or as a Chopped champion.

She'll share her personal journey and dig into the techniques behind great cooking. Afterward, our MAE 6291/CSA 3901: Food, Flow, Photography students head to the Fluids Lab for a hands-on demo, because yes, cooking is fluid dynamics!

The presentation is open to the GW community. Bring a fellow Rev who loves food, engineering, or both!

No GPS? No problem!

GW Engineering students put their skills to the test at the 2026 East Coast Autonomous Vehicle Competition, taking on a challenge that required autonomous aerial and ground vehicles to navigate, communicate, detect targets, and avoid obstacles, all without GPS.

It’s engineering beyond the classroom: designing, building, testing, troubleshooting, and adapting alongside teams from across the region.
