Eight years ago today we were blessed to have this little furry girl come into our lives, thanks to the Diana Brimblecombe Animal Rescue. She quickly became part of our family and we can't imagine life without her. She might be small, but she fills the house with her character. Small white dog being kissed by @gwyngb

Looking for your #weekendread The first in the Harrison Lane series is on offer at just 99p or 99c.

Buy on Amazon.

The child looked as if he were just sleeping on autumn leaves. But the burned-down candles and wooden cross told a different story…

Detectives call Dr Harrison Lane to the dark depths of Fenton Woods, where he finds seven-year-old Darren Phillips surrounded by candles and a makeshift cross. A prayer is scrawled on his chest. Papers crammed in his mouth – pages of scripture written in a child’s trembling hand.

As head of the Ritualistic Behavioural Crime unit, Harrison reads what others can’t see. The killer kept Darren alive for days, teaching him, forcing him to write. This is a man who believes he’s saving children’s souls from the Devil.

Then another boy vanishes.

Using his tracking skills and deep understanding of ritual crime, Harrison hunts a man convinced he’s doing God’s work. But the investigation stirs the dark shadows in Harrison’s own past – shadows that have haunted him for years.

Can he stop this killer before another innocent life is taken?

A gripping, keep-you-up-all-night twisty suspense. by @gwyngb

Really proud to announce that Mrs Barnes has been given the top review rating, 5 stars in the Readers' Favorite reviews.
Thank you to every one of you who has read the book and so pleased that people are enjoying it.

Here's just a short excerpt from the review:

'Once eager to take the world by storm, Mrs Barnes had become complacent in her role as a mother and wife. She had let her voice be drowned out to appease her husband, but the threat to her family awakened an underlying fierceness, and her transformation gave me an adrenaline rush; I couldn’t wait to see what Mrs Barnes would do next! As a fast-paced thriller writer, Gwyn Bennett knows her stuff. I was hooked from the moment Ariana turned. The chapter countdowns also created a great sense of anticipation. I loved how Mrs Barnes reminisced about past lessons and applied them to her current situation; it was endearingly beautiful as I got a glimpse of who she was growing up and how she became the woman she is today. Mrs Barnes, the character, is highly relatable as we all have days when we question ourselves. Her love for her family ran deep, and it showed. Empowering and compelling, Mrs Barnes is for the mothers who’ll do anything to protect their family.'

"Gripping is right! This is fast paced and with lots of false starts for the armchair detective. I loved the setting and Saskia and David are excellent characters!"
