Our 3v3 Academy is a 3-week program combining focused skill development with fast-paced 3v3 competition to help players improve their game, decision-making, confidence, and ability to play in live situations. Announcing our next X Factor Athlete: Luke McFayden ‘31. The X Factor Athlete is awarded once a month to 1/60 athletes within our basketball performance program. The X Factor Athlete demonstrates commitment to their on-court development, attends a minimum of 2 strength training sessions per week, has a positive attitude always, and shows coachability by putting into play the skills we are emphasizing. Congrats Luke! We are so excited to see all your hard work pay off this season on the court. Thank you for being such a great part of our community at Gym X. Always working work, showing respect, competing, and wanting to get better! The X Factor Athlete is sponsored by Total Body Chiropractic in Bend, OR. by @gymxbend
Progress! It’s been a year working with a lot of these 4th & 5th graders. And it’s so fun to see the development. Can’t wait to see them play this winter and see all their hard work in action! #gymxbend #basketballtraining by @gymxbend
Small-Sided Game: 2v2 Quick Decision-Making This is one our athletes really enjoy, and it’s simple enough to teach across age groups. Constraint: The first defender has to go around the opposite pole from the ball handler. You can also control where the second offensive player goes — either ball side or weak side. Weak side tends to make the read a little easier for younger players. Simple setup, lots of decisions. Give it a try! by @gymxbend
And this was 5 months ago… So much work put in since then @avery.bodenlos ! Big things coming! Just never give up. by @gymxbend

Save this for your next group workout or team practice! This is a good transition drill for all ages. #basketballtraining #basketballcoach #playerdevelopment #youthbaaketball by @gymxbend
1v3 Floater Chase Down Drill One defender starts behind the offense and has to chase around the front defender. The front defender starts in front of the ball handler, shifts one direction, and forces the offense to attack the opposite way. The help defender is a coach in the paint providing the final contest. Rule: the finish has to be a floater off 1 or 2 feet. I like this because the offensive player has to handle pressure from behind, react to the defender in front, and still stay under control enough to finish over help. Note: If the chaser is catching the offense enough to block them, the offensive player is going way to slow!! Save this one for your next finishing workout. #basketballtraining #basketballdrills #basketballcoach #playerdevelopment #youthbasketball by @gymxbend
3v3 Academy is BACK this winter 👏 More touches. More decisions. More opportunities to actually play. Our 3v3 Basketball Academy combines focused skill development with structured 3v3 competition so players can work on their game and then immediately apply it in a live setting. With fewer players on the floor, everyone is involved — attacking, defending, spacing, making reads, and learning how to play through real game situations. We’ll have separate groups for K–2nd grade and 3rd–5th grade, with three different 3-week sessions to choose from this winter. Boys and girls are welcome. Session 1: Dec 1–18 Session 2: Jan 5–22 Session 3: Feb 2–19 Spots are limited so we can keep groups small and maximize reps. You can join us for one session — or all three. Registration is open now at the link in our bio. by @gymxbend
