Some call it a liability, I call it an asset for my wellbeing 🐎🐚✨️

If you've ever wondered how much it costs to own a horse in Hawaii here is a quick monthly break down:

Shoes: $125 every 5-6 weeks so about $90/month
Feed: Alfalfa cubes $300 + grass from the land. Can be up to $400 if i buy hay or treats.
Land: $250 small turnout with covered area + direct access to dirt roads and trails.
Fly spray: Pyranha - about $45 from my local feed store.
Monthly total: $685

These are the monthly expected expenses and doesn't include replacement of tack, fencing, feeding equipment like buckets and troughs, vet bills, medicine and wound care, hoof treatment/prevention for thrush, etc.

Apparently Uranus exited Taurus April 25th after a 7 year phase and my life has been rocked. I've been told chapters are closing and this next phase of life is setting in, and i can feel it with each breath. It's not easy, to say the least. Grief has found an eternal home in my bones. Here are a few things that keep my grounded, moving, and motivated to get up in the morning. Leaving this reminder here so I don't forget them. This is what Mahiko farm lots looks like right now. Most farms are 6ft+ under. We saw 12 dogs, 1 cat and dozens of chickens yesterday. 8 dogs were rescued including 2 puppies. One has been reunited with its owner ( the one swimming in the video on @mykailua ), Her name is Princess. We are in contact with the owner of the pack of 4. 4 other dogs and the cat were on higher ground and had farmers still looking after them so we had to make a tough choice and prioritize looking for dogs that were abandoned. The puppy rescued at the end of this video bit me quite a few times, but in the end she calmed down and let me paddle her back while Beth @rescueoahu took the other 2. I won't be going out today in efforts to keep my wounds clean and prevent infection (during the last flood i was hospitilized for a week, on IV antiboitics for a month due to the combination of a dog bite from my dogs and cleanup at the Haleiwa food trucks a week later), so I have sort of learned my lesson, sort of... I took some leftover antibiotics I had at home since my local Dr's office is closed and am stranded in Mokuleia due to road closures for now, but overall am safe. Our entire town, gas stations, grocery stores and pharmacy is closed for now. The electric company has shut off electricity across the entire North Shore until the water subsides. There is a wonderful team of helpers still at the farms doing search and rescue. Thank you @hawaiipointerrescue for your compassion and organized communication skills coordinating with everyone on getting this accomplished. We couldnt have done it without everyone involved🙏💙 There is an estimated over $1 Billion in damages. 🚨 WAIALUA RESCUE UPDATE 🚨

Today started with a video—dogs stranded in floodwaters in Waialua.

Within minutes, we mobilized a small rescue team—coordinating location, paddle boards, and local support.

💥 What happened:
• 4-person ground team deployed
• Rescuers navigated floodwaters by SUP + on foot
• 1 stayed back for triage + transport

🐾 Outcome:
• 8 dogs rescued (including one dog from the video)

❤️ Update:
• Princess, the brave pup seen swimming, was rescued and reunited with her family tonight
• We are still searching for Lucky, the dog seen standing on the structure

📍 Also identified:
• 2 dogs + 1 cat safely sheltered — will continue to monitor

🙏 Huge mahalo to our on-the-ground team, rescue partners, and community who worked for hours to make this happen.
