I finished uni on Wednesday.
I thought I was going to be so happy and be turning up everyday, but it’s been the opposite. I feel so down and heavy.
I can’t believe in 2020 black people still have to fight to the justice that our governments should freely be giving us. I can’t believe we have to gather in masses AGAIN, for our voices to be heard, although they claim we are “loud” and “ghetto”. It’s heartbreaking and frustrating.

For my final year project, I created mock up campaigns to raise awareness to the clear lack of diversity within Down Syndrome organisations. I didn’t know that I was going to submit this work in a season of pain. I used my campaigns to fight for the rights of my baby sister, and other individuals from ethnic backgrounds, whose voices have been silenced by society. I did not know I would be back fighting for their voices and mine together.
Even the thought of putting these campaigns out there is scary but I REFUSE for non-black communities and the government to keep me silent, so here they are.

I created my mock up campaigns in collaboration/partnership with @downs_syndrome_association (The organisation I desired to work with for my final year project), who are the largest Down syndrome organisation within the UK. The things they have done for people have blown me away. Diversity is something that they can greatly improve on and I have been in contact with them about this project. They have been amazing and fingers crossed, you will all see my sister and some of my work on their blog and website soon 🙏🏾✊🏾 Fight how you can in this season. Our voices matter and they WILL be heard!
