Heart to Heart Mentoring is supporting Baltimore City Public Schools by helping to collect school supplies as students transition back to in person learning. The goal is to have enough materials to limit reuse and sharing, in an attempt to keep germ transmission to a minimum. Any contribution helps!! 📚✏️🖍 Direct message to coordinate material drop off. Today the world watched an important moment in American history as the first Black, South Asian, WOMAN, Kamala Harris, took her place as Vice President, a position previously only held by white men. As Madame Vice President was sworn in by the first Latina serving on the nations high court, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, today was truly a moment to embrace. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
As a country, we still have so much left to accomplish, but today offered hope and a light in a time that has recently been very dim. ⁣
⁣
As Amanda Gorman so beautifully put it,⁣⁣
“Somehow we weathered and witnessed⁣⁣
A nation that isn't broken, but simply unfinished.⁣⁣
We the successors of a country in a time where a skinny black girl descended from slaves and raised by a single mother can dream of becoming president ⁣⁣
Only to find herself reciting for one.⁣⁣
And yes we are far from polished, far from pristine⁣⁣
But that doesn't mean we aren't striving to form a union that is perfect.⁣⁣
We are striving to forge a union with purpose⁣⁣
To compose a country committed⁣⁣
To all cultures, colors, characters and conditions of man.⁣⁣
And so we lift our gazes not to what stands between us⁣⁣
But what stands before us...”⁣⁣

One of our goals for the new year is to make a habit of yoga. Not only is it great for your body physically, but by allowing you to be more mindful of your breathing and balance, it can also be a great tool to de-stress and refocus emotionally and mentally🤗 by @h2hmentoring

2020 was .. different, to say the least, but if nothing else it proved to us once again just how strong we are💪🏼 We have been mentally, emotionally, and physically drained this year but WE MADE IT! Cheers to 2021 and coming out on the other side for a more positive future🥳💕 by @h2hmentoring
