sharing my archived work from grad school that I’ve been marinating for way to damn long~

i present to you:🫚🫚🫚

a project exploring sexuality, femininity, masculinity, and the balance between hardness and tenderness through a piece of ginger. the ginger is pierced with nails, bound with safety pins, and intertwined with flowers as i reflect on vulnerability, intimacy, healing, and resilience. though ginger appears rough, scarred, and knotted, it carries warm and healing nourishment beneath its skin (something i know well from my root - pun intended:p) through these gestures, i explore how softness and strength, love and grief, happiness and sadness can exist hand in hand, and how tenderness can endure despite the scars we carry🤲🏽🫂🪾🫚 by @ha.tr.an

OPEN MIC, NYC edition, ep 1
Across The Ocean

Friends, lovers, performers, artists⭐️⭐️⭐️

Amidst this icy winter, I want to invite you to a warm Pisces-coded night where we gather to share stories, laughter, music, and whatever else our hearts have been quietly holding. Carrying warmth and flow, across the ocean all the way from Saigon, this will be a continuation of the open mic series that @kelllyluongg and I hosted together back home.

Performers, dancers, singers, poets, and creative storytellers, this is your gentle nudge to step in! I invite you to come share what you love with a room that’s ready to listen. Music has always been such an inseparable tide in my life and I was lucky enough to share it with @kelllyluongg. Now I want to create a space like that for you too. Let’s do this together to remind us of what we love🤸🏽‍♀️💥

Whether you come as a performer or a listener, the space will be ready to hold you. May the waves (artists) meet the shore (audience) :P

So excited to have @toastsupperclub serving small bites and drinks, @whotfelse__ as dj, @leonguyencomedy as MC, @desouza.tara guiding us through meditation, and of course, dilly dally lullabies written by yours truly ;)

Cảm ơn @lekhanhs @nonhumanmodels for this absolutely beautiful poster
