A Love Story:

I was far, far from ready to open my heart or mind to another pup (still crying about Milton almost every day), but then I saw his face in our foster/rescue chat. My heart fluttered, and without reading anything else about him, I typed as quickly as I could, "We will foster him." Assuming someone must have surely claimed him earlier in the day (minor panic kicking in), I scrolled back up, reading from his initial post and on, and ... No one had claimed him.

OMG! We can foster him! Controlled panic turned to controlled excitement.

But we didn't know his personality. "So, we will see."

Then we met him, and he was just wonderful. I kissed him between the eyes on the first night (and Shane knew I loved him). 💙

His mom had died. The only human he had ever known as his. His world was turned upside down. 😔

I am thankful to her, because he was obviously incredibly loved, safe, and cared for. He is so sociable, sweet, playful, and he has wonderful manners.

He is mourning his mom. We are mourning Milton.

There was something poignant about it. Do we ... like ... need each other?
Does my heart even have room?? 🥹

It was like the Universe said, "I know you think you are not ready, but you are going to heal each other."
And possibly: "Milton did a lot of work to send him to you, so don't overthink this you bitch." 😂

Please welcome Roscoe to our Wolfpack (4.0) and to your social media feeds (stop - you know you are excited).

Side note: His middle name is Falkor because both Shane and I saw (and then my friend Stevie helped solidify) how much he looks like Falkor ... So long, the sweeping tail, and he also likes being scratched behind the ears. 😂

Anyone who knows me knows how much I loved Milton. Anyone who has known me for a while, knows that Milton and I had a very special bond (since before he was even mine, ha). I was his person. His mama. I was who he snuggled with if he didn't feel good. I was who he would trot around the house looking for and had to have eyes on me at all times. However, he loved his freaking dad. His dad brought out a feistiness in him that I had never seen. He would growl and bark like I'd never heard before. Walks were more exciting with his dad. Dad was his absolute favorite chinrest. Here is a compilation of milton just adoring his dad. You're welcome. ❤️😌

On Halloween night, the spirit world gained the best, most ridiculous scroof.

We are in disbelief, but Milton passed away last night. It was sudden. He was fine Thursday, gone Friday. We are devastated. He was our perfect little boy. Our roadtrip buddy. He was the light of our life. He was the most adorable, entertaining floof I have had the pleasure of meeting, let alone being his mama. He loved everyone, and everyone should have met him. He should have held a class teaching other dogs to be Miltons. 💗😌
We are currently sad zombies in a quiet, Milton-less house. No pup sleeping between our pillows. We miss him immensely. He was one loved floof. 💔
