Launching Hackerlily into the UK has been a big bet 🇬🇧

It is a competitive, established market with brilliant brands, cautious customers and plenty of reasons for people to stick with what they already know.

So winning Silver for Best Toddler Product (in the Project Baby Awards) in a market we have only just entered is bloody amazing - and I’m so proud of myself for backing myself, and my baby, the HipSurfer.

Behind the badge is a lot of unglamorous work: compliance, logistics, shipping, pricing, positioning, retail conversations and building trust from scratch in a new market.

And although I lived in the UK for 11 years, so much has changed since I left. I’ve also pivoted industries, so in many ways, I’m starting from scratch again.
Getting this kind of feedback so early is exactly what I needed as a solo founder to keep backing myself through the late nights, the uncertainty, and the constant hope that all the little bets will pay off.

While it is still so early in our UK journey, there is clearly demand for practical, beautifully designed and super functional products that make life easier for parents and carers.

Know any retailers, distributors or partners who have a HipSurfer-shaped hole in their business?

Please tag and share - I’ll accept all the help and connections 🙏

A big shout out to Amber Steventon Emma Wardle and Emma Waterfield from @Azariapr for their support in making this possible 🙏

Long-haul flight, airport queues and little legs that tire out fast. ✈️😂

The HipSurfer keeps your bub close, with handy storage for your travel essentials. One less thing to stress about when travelling with toddlers!

Some kids have a favourite toy. Others have a favourite place to sit. You. 😂

And whether it’s rocking a baby for the fifth time or carrying a toddler who’s suddenly forgotten how to walk, all those pickups add up.

That’s why I made the HipSurfer. A supportive hipseat and bum bag in one, designed to take some of the strain off your arms and back.

Nappies, wipes, snacks, spare clothes… why do toddlers need SO much stuff? 😂

Good thing the HipSurfer has storage for the everyday essentials, so you can leave the bulky nappy bag at home.

If you can wrestle a wriggly toddler into a car seat, you can definitely manage this. 😂

The HipSurfer takes around 15 seconds to pop on. No shoulder straps, no complicated setup, and absolutely no engineering degree required.

One less thing to wrestle with before heading out the door.

Here’s how it’s done 👆 by @hackerlily_uk

A better fit, more comfort, more room for the carry-me moments.

The HipSurfer waistband extender gives you that little bit of extra flexibility when you need it.
