Our founder, Shelby Pollard Belote, had witnessed what the valley was missing in our local food system for over 10+ years.

Wyoming’s high elevation and short growing season severely limits local food production for much of the year.

Shelby, alongside Curtis Haderlie, developed a plan to meet that need. The Haderlie Farms Winter Greenhouse was a much needed stepping stone in order to build a food hub and fill this critical gap in the local food ecosystem.

This design, by Curtis himself, overcomes those constraints by keeping food production local, reducing reliance on long-distance transport, and strengthening the valley’s food security during the coldest months.

For the Farmers | HADERLIE FARMS

80 years of Haderlies have worked the same land with the same focus: to provide nutrient dense food for our community.

Lamar Haderlie, first generation farmer, bought land in Thayne in 1945 and started his very own dairy operation. You can still see the original State of Wyoming Milk Permit framed and hanging at the farm today.

His son Curtis took over in 2001 and put up the first greenhouse soon after. By 2005, Haderlie Farms made its debut at the Jackson Farmers Market, and they’ve been nourishing the community with a wide variety of beef, chicken, eggs, milk, and fresh produce ever since.
