To celebrate a decade of HADES, we wanted to do something special! We asked one of our favourite artists, Gillian Wearing, to create a series of photographs showcasing the ‘Best of HADES’ collection.

Gillian Wearing is a Turner Prize-winning artist renowned for her photography, video and conceptual works exploring identity. Wearing often uses masks and self-portraiture to challenge perceptions of self and society. Born in Birmingham, she moved to London in the early 1980s.

We deeply admire Wearing’s artistic practice and are delighted that our 10th anniversary collection of favourites from the HADES archive has been interpreted through her lens.

We’re excited to announce the return of Tilda Swinton x HADES!

At the end of this month, we’ll be unveiling a second collection created in collaboration with the award-winning actor.

We were thrilled by the response to the first collection and loved seeing you embrace scissors, hands and weird and wonderful slogans. The new collection introduces completely new styles and printing techniques. Although subtler in design, it explores complex themes, but we don’t want to reveal too much yet!

To celebrate the launch, we’ll be hosting a weekend pop-up in Soho, London, from 30th April-4th May – stay tuned for more information...

As always, thank you for your continued support of HADES, we always appreciate it. We’re so grateful to have so many of you championing independent businesses, local manufacturing and our designs. We can’t wait to show you the collection and hope to see you in-store!

Introducing the Handbag Scarf – launching online and in-store our pop-up at @messthestore this weekend!

We’ve restocked the Handbag Cardigan and introduced a scarf in the same eccentric print, featuring the assorted contents of a handbag...

Handbags are known to be the ultimate accessory and often a status symbol, internally they are private and personal to each wearer – a map of who the owner is and an extension of themselves. We wanted to play with the notion that the contents of handbags offer an intimate map of their owner.

The cardigan is knitted in Spain and the scarf in Scotland, both crafted from pure lambswool. by @hades_wool

We would love for you to visit @messthestore to take part in The Ancestral Motherline Event 💌 Stop by at any time over the weekend to visit the pop-up to take part!

We will ask you to respond to a questionnaire about your mother or maternal figure. Your responses will form part of a collective exploration of the memories, experiences and influence of our motherline.

From these reflections, we will go on to design a knit that brings together and gives form to the stories and memories that have been shared.

To celebrate the art activation we will be exhibiting @carolinemcauliffeart’s ‘Pretty In Fringe’ in-store.

The 1967 Fleetwood Mac Knit – the cornflower blue and ecru jumper from the @fleetwoodmac collection celebrates the bands first live debut performance.

On Sunday 13th August 1967 Fleetwood Mac made their live debut appearing at the National Jazz and Blues Festival in Windsor, a moment that kick started their music career and a time that fans fondly speak of.
