Donation Drive to the Emmet County Animal Shelter is happening now through the end of October! 🐾🐶🐱❤️🏠🦴📦

Through 4-H, FFA, ambassador roles, and just being a busy high school student, I have learned how important service truly is and the impact it can have on others. Four years ago at my 4-H club meeting, I thought of this project as my form of citizenship. Since then, I have not only learned how to give back to organizations that mean a lot to me, but also how to communicate, organize, and connect with my community.

This year, I’m continuing the project through both my 4-H citizenship project and FFA SAE project. I’m taking advantage of the visitors our Halloween display brings in to collect donations for the Emmet County Animal Shelter. Armstrong Trick or Treat is October 31st, but donations can be brought by anytime between now and the end of October at the dog house in front of 304 Columbian Blvd in Armstrong Iowa!

Last year, we raised over $400 in cash and donations for the shelter, and I would love to beat that this year! If you’re unable to stop by, there is also a Venmo option available. Please see the flyer below for all the details, and don’t forget to like and share to help spread the word!

Let’s do some good for the animals in our community! 🐾❤️

No better way to kick off my year as the Today’s Youth in Agriculture Iowa Ambassador than at the Clay County Fair!

🎡🎟️🐄🐖🐑🌽🍿🎠🎪🚜🍦🌾🐓

On Sunday, September 13, I got the chance to help with Choose Iowa Day at the fair! Choose Iowa is an initiative that highlights Iowa producers and products, covering anything grown, raised, or produced right here in Iowa. The goal is to connect consumers with Iowa producers and help people learn more about where the products they buy come from. I helped run a Plinko game where fairgoers could test their Iowa agriculture knowledge, and I got to ask questions and have conversations with people about the many different parts of agriculture in our state. It was a fun way to see how much Iowa agriculture is all around us!

Then, on Friday, September 18, it was all about dairy! I helped with Iowa Dairy Day in partnership with the Western Iowa Dairy Alliance. I got to pass out cheese samples and help run a spin-the-wheel game with questions about Iowa’s dairy industry. Fairgoers could spin the wheel, test their knowledge, and learn more about Iowa dairy along the way. Of course, the cheese samples were a pretty popular part of the day!

Between Plinko, cheese samples, and lots of conversations about Iowa agriculture, the Clay County Fair was a pretty great way to start my year as the Today’s Youth in Agriculture Iowa Ambassador! I’m excited to see what the rest of this year brings and to keep sharing the story of Iowa agriculture! taken in Clay County Fair & Events Center by @hadleyintya

Hi everyone! I’m Hadley, and I’m so excited to introduce myself as Iowa’s Ambassador for Today’s Youth in Agriculture!

Agriculture has been a huge part of my life through 4-H, FFA, showing dairy goats, livestock judging, and so many other experiences. I’m excited to use this opportunity to share my passion for agriculture, educate others, and show just how many opportunities agriculture has to offer.

I’m incredibly honored to represent Iowa as a Today’s Youth in Agriculture Ambassador, and I can’t wait to see what this year brings! I’m looking forward to meeting new people, sharing my experiences, and helping others learn more about the agriculture that surrounds us every day.
