Haein Choi draws on everyday scenes and objects to translate into images the sense of loneliness that accompanies her due to her quiet, contemplative personality and her long life abroad. Her work does not portray this deeply personal yet universal feeling in a positive or negative light, but rather presents it simply and unadorned, inviting viewers to identify with it and empathize.
