Learn the when, why, and how, and fasting can become more than a weight-loss strategy… it can be part of a smarter approach to metabolic health, mental clarity, performance and longevity.

Follow along if you want to understand fasting beyond fat loss and learn how to use it strategically.

Skincare wasn’t my top priority. just something I used to ignore.

work out training, sweat, sun… over time my skin caught up with me: dryness, dark spots, early signs of damage. I was doing the “inner work” right, nutrition, training, but I realized it doesn’t fully show without taking care of your skin too. Sunscreen is just one part of it.

Started treating skincare seriously, and it actually paid off: less damage, fading spots, healthier skin and I genuinely feel better looking in the mirror.

1. Too much protein
Protein is essential, but eating too much protein can cause digestive issues for some people. Processing large amounts of protein can require a lot of stomach acid. If you already have low stomach acid, this may make digestion even more difficult. Before increasing your protein intake, address your stomach acid and digestive health first. You cannot simply keep adding more protein without considering whether your body can digest it.

2. Ultra-processed health foods
Protein bars, plant-based meats, and packaged protein products may contain refined ingredients, additives, and sweeteners. Just because something is high in protein doesn’t mean it’s the same as eating whole foods.

3. Plant-based protein powders
Think about how many peas it takes to produce one scoop of pea protein containing 30 g of protein. You’re concentrating protein from a large quantity of peas into one small serving. That’s very different from eating whole peas, and concentrated pea protein may cause digestive discomfort in some people.

4. Too much fat without adequate digestive support
Your body needs bile and pancreatic enzymes to digest fat. After absorption, most long-chain dietary fats travel through your lymphatic system before entering your bloodstream. If you’re eating a high-fat diet, especially keto, pay attention to how you tolerate fatty meals. Bile production, fat digestion, and lymphatic transport all play important roles.

5. Fermented foods
Fermented foods can be great for your gut, but if your gut is already struggling, certain varieties may worsen your symptoms. Also, some fermented and salt-preserved foods contain very high amounts of salt. High consumption of salt-foods has been associated with an increased risk of stomach cancer. It’s not fermentation itself that’s necessarily the problem; the type of food and its salt content matter.

YOUR GUT ISN’T JUST ABOUT WHAT YOU EAT. IT’S ALSO ABOUT WHAT YOU CAN DIGEST AND TOLERATE.

Something considered healthy isn’t automatically right for everyone.

Your body responds to the changing seasons. 🍂

From melatonin to insulin, seasonal changes can influence your metabolism and nutritional needs.

Knowing what to eat more of and what to eat less of can help you adapt.

Do you change how you eat in fall and winter? Tell me in the comments.👇

Nobody tells you that having kids comes with its own fitness program.

You’ll carry more weight, get more steps, spend half your day getting up and down from the floor, and sprint unexpectedly more often than you ever planned.

Is it structured? No.
Is it predictable? Absolutely not.
Does it keep you moving? You bet.

Parenthood might not replace your training program, but it definitely adds a few unexpected reps.

What’s the most unexpected health benefit you’ve noticed since having kids?👇 by @haelprotocol

Fasting gets easier when you stop treating every day like the perfect day to fast.

For WOMEN especially, sleep, stress, training, and where you are in your cycle can change how a fast feels.

A fast that feels effortless one week can feel brutal the next and that doesn’t automatically mean you’ve “lost your discipline.”

Instead of forcing the same fasting window every day, pay attention to your signals:

→ Poor sleep? Don’t force a long fast just to hit a number.
→ Hard training day? Your fueling needs may be different.
→ High stress? Adding more stress isn’t always the goal.
→ Feeling unusually hungry or depleted? Listen before you push.

The goal isn’t to prove you can go without food.

The goal is to use fastingas a tool that works with your body, not against it.

Save this for the next time fasting suddenly feels harder than usual.

Women: do you notice your hunger or fasting tolerance changing throughout the month? 👇

No one-size-fits-all with fasting.

First, know where you’re at: beginner, cycle, training, energy, goals…

Then start simple.

Do a 12:12.
Eat a little earlier dinner.
Give your body a clean overnight break.

That alone can shift your energy and gut more than jumping into extreme fasts.

Then you build from there.

Follow along as I’ll break down the stages, where you’re at, and exactly what to do next.

Fasting is a tool, use it properly.

The more you negotiate with yourself, the harder consistency becomes.

Make your health a non-negotiable. Then act accordingly.

What’s one health habit you refuse to negotiate on?

You won’t always feel motivated.
Some days you’ll be tired, stressed, sad or just not feeling it.

But consistency isn’t about waiting for the right mood.
It’s about showing up anyway.

And every time you do, you build a habit you can actually rely on.

Save this for the day you don’t feel like it. 💪 by @haelprotocol

Getting lean is one thing. Staying lean without making fitness your full-time job is the real goal.

These 7 shifts make it simpler, more sustainable, and a lot less exhausting.

Save this for later & send it to someone who’s making fat loss harder than it needs to be. by @haelprotocol

I’m 42, and I’m thinking less about how I want to look next year… and more about how I want to live at 80.

Strong. Healthy. Capable. Surrounded by people I love, still doing the things that make life worth living.

The life I want later is being built by what I do today. by @haelprotocol
