Fondly recollecting our time making this record. From the very first scratch demos, to getting proper vocal takes down with beloved engineer chum Robyn Dawson, and then mixing it in stages at Knockwood Studio with Jolon. Part of the process happened while I was very pregnant, and part of it with a little baby squirming about amongst all the cables, drooling into the reel-to-reel.

So grateful to these guys for all their input. To Robyn, for always pushing towards that perfect vocal take and not accepting my "that'll do because I'm tired", and to Jolon, for always pushing to put everything onto tape, and creating such a beautiful studio.

We individually and together owe you a huge debt of gratitude for your support over the years. You’ve been a bedrock of grassroots cultural journalism in Scotland, and we’ve benefitted so much from your kind words and your championing of what we do.

Released via Lost Map Records, the album brings together Hailey Beavis’s distinctive vocals and surreal, confessional lyrics with Brian Pokora’s dreamy, wonky electronic production, creating a strange, joyful and beautiful world somewhere between synth-pop, trip-hop and experimental electronic music.

We will bring that world to life in a specially created live show, alongsideThundermoon, Accident Machine, and Supper Club DJs, with lots of homemade visual magic as well as some way slicker visuals from FIZZYPOP!

Hi friends! This year I'm taking on the Kiltwalk (in a few weeks time..) to raise money for a cause that's incredibly close to my heart. If you have a moment, please have a read, and if you're able to, I'd be so grateful if you could donate or share this post.

As many of you know, I work with people living with dementia and Alzheimer's at the Western General Hospital. Through this work I see first-hand just how much creativity, music and meaningful activity can transform someone's day. But what I do is only a small part of what people need.

For someone living with dementia, being in an unfamiliar hospital environment can be incredibly frightening. The days can feel endless. Many people are distressed, anxious and dysregulated, especially while waiting weeks and often months for the right care to transition into. The right activity can completely change someone's day, bringing moments of calm, joy, connection and purpose. Those moments don't just improve mood, they often lead to better sleep, reduced distress and make a real difference to everyone around them.

A while ago, Carolina, the Activities Coordinator on Ward 70, mentioned she was doing the Kiltwalk to raise money for activities on the ward. The nurses and Activities Coordinators work to make life brighter for patients. They're constantly finding creative ways to engage people and often end up buying resources or funding little extras from their own pockets just to make a patients day a bit better.

I wanted to join Carolina to show my support.

Just to be clear, the money raised won't be paying for my creative sessions. The work I do through Artlink is funded separately. Every penny raised will go towards helping Carolina bring more music, art, visiting animals, creative professionals and meaningful activities onto her ward specifically.

I hope you can spare a few bob (as my grandmother would say), no donation too small. And please share with anyone and everyone! Thanks all xx
