Choreographers cup 26’

Where to find the words! Being able to be a part of this process has been an experience I will never ever forget. When you take a group of humans as devoted as this and give a choreographer as incredibly inspired as sawyer the ability to create, yeah that’s magic.

Sawyer my heart goes out to you in ways I can’t really articulate. The growth I’ve been able to experience through working with you has been pivotal and is something I cherish very dearly. Thank you for trusting me to be a part of this.

To my lovely cast members, thank you for accepting me into an environment that was seemingly foreign and making me feel at home. I’m so grateful to have been able to experience this with such lovely souls!

Nothing to prove, everything to share. 🫀🪽

Wow where to even begin. I was privileged to spend the most beautiful 2 weeks with Complexions and I’m so immensely grateful. When someone creates an environment like this it is one to be cherished. The older I get and the more places I get to explore in the dance world, the harder it gets to navigate the trials and politics and seemingly unnecessarily harsh environments. All the pressure and all the hurt that gets placed upon dancers takes away from the creativity and artistry that we work so hard to obtain. Sometimes I think we need to remember how human we really are. Being given the space to try and mess up and feel stupid and work harder than ever and become so connected with myself that I feel new is unlike anything else. I’ve learned that what makes dance so special is how human it is. Connection and presence are beautiful gifts to be given the opportunity to explore and I will never forget what I have found. I left Complexions feeling fulfilled, joyful and grateful. Thank you to all of the faculty that curated this wonderful experience and thank you to my precious pre pros for being so supportive of my own as well as everyone’s journey. I am beyond excited to join everyone again soon.

Cinderella 🌟🦋

My inability to put this show into words is astonishing ( hence the super late post 🙈), but to say I’m grateful in an understatement. Having grown up at a competition studio being apart of any ballet to begin with seemed incredible but being able to dance a lead in a ballet was absolutely baffling. I was able to watch so so many talented dancers take on roles like this and aspired to one day be able to do the same. Being given this opportunity is so incredibly surreal and I’m so grateful for it.

Important things I learned:
- Two pas are no joke
- quick changes are hard
- Never underestimate the power of an anti nausea
- Trusting in God will take you so so far

Thank you to my wonderful studio @utahdanceinstitute and all the faculty for providing a space for me to grow and an absolutely massive thank you to @catisnarr for giving me the opportunity to take on this role and trusting me with it. Thanks also to my lovely mum @emnorat for being there for me through all my late night sob fests and grumpy rehearsals. I am so very grateful!

And most special thanks to @mwt14 for setting the most beautiful choreography 🫶🕊️ by @haileyndance

Nutty 25’ 🌰🌷🌟

Thank you so much to all the wonderful people who made this show possible. Nutcracker season never ceases to bring an insane amount of stress and working through that with a knee injury has its own set of challenges. However the magic of it all always brings me back and invites so much joy. I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to share this art with so many people and to the guidance I’ve received through it all. Thank you to @utahdanceinstitute @catisnarr and @jenny.souvall.bradley for putting together an amazing show and allowing me to be part of it! I love my udi fam so very much and I can’t wait for the spring! by @haileyndance

“Show up for the world the way you want the world to show up for you.”
- Bradley Shelver

Let’s just pretend I posted this a month ago..
These two weeks were truly unforgettable. The growth that comes with experiences like this is like nothing else and can never be replaced in my mind. I am so very grateful for the incredible amounts of energy and soul that were put into these weeks because I know it was a lot. The willingness of people to put themselves in such vulnerable positions and take advantage of each opportunity to create is so beautiful. I will never forget the knowledge I gained during my time here. Thank you to the lovely humans who helped me through. I love you all. by @haileyndance

“You have the choice to either do, or become.”
- Alonzo King

To say I’m inspired is an understatement.
Let’s talk about being inspired. Inspiration is the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative. Inspiration comes only when an environment becomes so vulnerable and inviting that the body and mind have no choice but to respond. The faculty at lines have not only taught me to push boundaries, expand beyond measure, explore, and push the limits of everything I do, but opened my eyes to another world of expression I wasn’t sure was possible. Art is the expression of the soul and dance is the most human and honest form of exploration to the soul that I can find. I am blessed to say the very least. Thank you to everyone who made this one of my most precious experiences. Special thanks to Carmen for trusting me with such a fun and challenging piece.
