oh uncle dom, i don’t even know what to say or even how to say it. never did i think this would happen, let alone right now. why did this happen. why. you were the most kind hearted, loving, and overall amazing person i have ever met. you helped and supported me so much as i made my transition to jmu. my uncle was my rock. as i transitioned into college life and started my journey at jmu, he was always ready to bend over backwards and help me in any way possible to find my place there and he always looked out for me. he would drop everything to take the 5 hour drive to harrisonburg and make sure i was safe and having a good time. he always looked forward to his next trip down there. since our first visit, i had found my new home and he was apart of it. we would walk to downtown harrisonburg and go to billy jacks and jimmy madisons, our favorite restaurants. it was a ritual that we didn’t skip anytime him and my mom would come to see me. he walked me around that whole campus and helped me discover new things about this place. you always reached out, you always were there for me. you meant the world and more to me and i can’t believe you’re gone. you were such a rock and such a shining bright star. i can’t believe this is happening. i wish i could hug you one last time. i wish this wasn’t happening. i want you back. nothing is going to be the same without you. you were so incredible and i don’t want to say goodbye. i want you to be right here with us all. not in spirit, i need you back physically. this is so unfair. you did everything right. you deserved so much more and i’m so sorry this happened to you. i just want to eat buffalo wings with you one last time and tell you how much you meant to me. i’ll never get to do that. i’ll never get you back. anytime i wear that green “sweater” i’ll be thinking of you and how you always used to tease me. you will never be forgotten, i promise you that. i love you now. i love you always. i love you forever.please remember to hug your loved ones, you never know when it’s going to be the last time. by @haileyyhambrick
