“Is this just another hair supplement?”
It’s a fair question, especially if you’ve already tried a few things and still feel unsure about what your hair needs.
Balance 45+ was developed with women in midlife in mind. At Hairbulb, our starting point is understanding what you’ve noticed and asking: “What changed?”
We want you to get to know the ingredients, the thinking behind the product and who it’s intended for before deciding whether it’s for you.
What would you like to know about Balance 45+? Leave your questions below and we’ll put them to Will.

It’s Hairbulb® delivery day! 📦🤍

And this is one of those lovely little moments when all the hard work starts to feel very real.

Today, we’re packing up the first deliveries of Hairbulb® Balance 45+ and heading out to some of Glasgow’s fantastic professional hair salons.

Our first stops are:

📍 Rainbow Room International Academy
📍 Rainbow Room International Crow Road
📍 Rainbow Room International George Sq
📍 Rainbow Room International Buchanan Street

More salon’s coming up soon ..

Seeing Hairbulb make its way into professional salons is a really special milestone for us.

After years of working with clients in the trichology clinic, one thing has always stood out: so many women notice changes in their hair as they get older, but aren’t always sure why they’re happening or how best to support their hair.

And that’s where the idea for Hairbulb began.

Professional nutritional support for changing hair after 45, developed with real clinical experience and an understanding of the conversations happening in salons every day.

Because looking after your hair doesn’t begin and end in the salon chair. Good nutrition, professional advice and understanding your hair all have a part to play.

A huge thank you to the Rainbow Room International teams for welcoming Hairbulb into their salons.

From an idea, to a formulation, to our very first salon deliveries. 🌿

And we’re only just getting started!

Hairbulb® Balance 45+ is now available online at hairbulb.com, with stock arriving in participating salons.

“The first question I ask is: what changed?”
When you’re focused on the hair in your brush or how your parting looks, it can be hard to know what other information matters.
Here, Will explains why he starts with this question and what he means by it.
It’s a chance to talk through the wider picture and explain what you’ve been noticing in your own words.
Watch for his explanation, and follow Hairbulb for more questions answered.

Great hairdressing goes beyond the salon chair. 🤍

And understanding hair health is becoming an increasingly important part of the conversation.

We’re delighted to share that Hairbulb® founder and clinical trichologist Wil Fleeson has been invited to speak at Respect LAB Glasgow, an inspiring industry event bringing together leading hair professionals, educators and innovators.

Hosted by @respectforhair, Respect LAB is all about sharing knowledge, challenging ideas and helping the hairdressing industry continue to evolve.

Wil will be discussing a subject particularly close to our hearts:

When should a hairdresser recommend seeing a trichologist?

Because hairdressers are often among the first people to notice subtle changes in someone’s hair.

A little less volume. A widening parting. A change in texture. Or a client quietly mentioning that their hair just doesn’t feel the way it used to.

These conversations matter.

And while great hairdressing can transform how hair looks and feels, understanding what’s happening beneath the surface can be just as important.

It’s also part of the thinking that inspired Hairbulb. 🌿

Bringing together years of clinical trichology experience, professional hairdressing knowledge and a belief that healthy hair deserves a more informed, holistic approach.

From recognising when specialist advice is needed to understanding the role of nutrition in maintaining normal hair health, we believe education is where better hair conversations begin.

We’re looking forward to sharing ideas with some fantastic industry professionals.

A big thank you to the Respect team for the invitation.

🎤 When to Refer to a Trichologist

You don’t need to have the perfect words to explain what’s happening with your hair.
“My ponytail feels smaller.”“I’m noticing more hair when I brush.”“I keep changing where I part it.”
Those are all useful ways to start a conversation.
This carousel brings together a few things to note beforehand, from when you first noticed the change to how it’s making you feel.
Save it so you have something to refer back to when you want to talk it through.

“Would you automatically recommend a hair supplement?”
Will’s answer is no.
Understanding what someone has noticed, when it started and what else might have changed comes first.
We asked him to explain how he approaches that conversation and what he wants to understand before making a recommendation.
Press play for his answer.
What else would you like us to ask Will?

Your hair is made from protein. But there’s much more happening beneath the surface. 🍂

When we think about healthy hair, we often think about collagen, protein, shampoos and treatments.

But what about the tiny, highly active structures responsible for producing our hair?

The hair follicles.

Deep within the skin, hair follicles rely on a complex network of normal biological processes : from cell division and protein synthesis to energy metabolism and the delivery of nutrients through the circulation.

And those processes depend, in part, on good nutrition.

This is where vitamins and minerals become particularly interesting.

🍂 Vitamin D — an important nutrient for normal health, particularly worth considering during the shorter autumn and winter days when our skin produces less vitamin D from sunlight.

🍂 Zinc — contributes to normal DNA synthesis, cell division and protein synthesis, as well as the maintenance of normal hair.

🍂 B vitamins — including folate and B12, which contribute to normal blood formation and other essential cellular processes. Biotin also contributes to the maintenance of normal hair.

🍂 L-Lysine — an essential amino acid involved in the body’s normal protein-building processes.

These nutrients don’t work as isolated miracle ingredients. They form part of a much wider nutritional picture.

And that’s exactly the thinking behind Hairbulb® Balance 45+.

Developed by a practising trichologist, Balance 45+ brings together 20 carefully selected ingredients across seven nutritional groups, with considered amounts and forms, in one simple daily routine.

Not because every woman over 45 needs more supplements.

But because nutritional needs deserve thoughtful consideration as we move through different stages of life.

Our philosophy is simple: understand the biology, consider the nutrition, and support normal hair health without promising overnight miracles.

A proud moment. And a reminder of why it all began. 🤍

A lovely moment for our founder, Wil Fleeson, featured in Tribute Magazine, sharing what makes him most proud after years in the hair industry and as a practising trichologist.

For Wil, it has never been just about hair.

It’s about the person behind it, their confidence, their wellbeing, and that wonderful moment when they begin to feel like themselves again.

Years spent listening to clients, understanding their concerns, and seeing first-hand how deeply hair changes can affect confidence have shaped everything behind Hairbulb®.

That same passion and clinical experience inspired the development of Balance 45+, a carefully thought out nutritional supplement designed specifically for women experiencing changing hair after 45.

Because caring for your hair should be about more than how it looks. It’s about understanding it, supporting its health, and helping you feel confident from within.

From the salon chair to the trichology clinic, and now to Hairbulb, the purpose has always been the same: helping people feel confident in themselves.

Thank you to Tribute Magazine for sharing such a meaningful part of our story.
