7 years ago I decided to chase my passion and go for my cosmetology license . I went to the Aveda institute Denver where I had so many opportunities to work with local fashion shows and some amazing talented artists . I graduated with high honors as a Premier talent student . My first apprenticeship was Evolution Salon in the highlands . I've learned amazing cutting skills and color . I then moved to a salon in cherry creek, at the time a salon called Planet Laboratories . Today known as Vida salon cherry creek . I have enjoyed working with amazing and talented individuals there and just wanted to challenge myself in a different direction . I decided to go into men's grooming . My first men's grooming shop was Scissors & Scotch (DTC) . I was coming from basic men's cutting skills to an elite place so of course I had doubts and even a immense fear of failure . I've learned a lot through my redos, classes, questions and always being open to constructive criticism . Eventually I moved on . I have been with 3 shops in between . To me it's important who your team is, how it flows, and of course the demographic you're wanting to cater to . For a year I was with Floyd's barber shop and became assistant shop lead to eventually shop lead . I had such a drive and determination to lead my team and shop that it literally took the universe to push me to anither area . Today . I am a men's stylist at Frank's gentlemen's salon (Denver) . I was nervous and fearful again because this team was driven, devoted and talented . I wanted to be better and do better . It has only been 4 months since being apart of the team and I have been so inspired . My growth, my craft and my goals . No matter the set backs, the mental health and comments from people who didn't matter only pushed me to not walk away from my passion . So I am incredibly proud of myself for my growth and continuous strive to push and BE BETTER .

This memory pop up . I was still in cosmetology school and had the pleasure to meet @grahamnation . I learned some of his techniques and even was his hair model for this particular picture . Gone too soon the industry still misses you and will carry your techniques for the next .

What an incredible opportunity to be able to work behind the scenes hair and make up . The experience was amazing and I had a wonderful time doing what I love and seeing it come to life for a fashion show . -Allow me to reintroduce myself . My name is Salina . I have been in the industry coming up 8yrs and men's grooming for about 3yrs . I graduated from the Aveda Institute Denver with high honors, a passion to always learn and grow, along with a BE BETTER/DO BETTER attitude . I have done bridal hair, fashion hair, editorial remix hair, extensions, color ect . Ultimately my jam is cutting ! I love the precision, the millions of ways to execute a cut and just the craft itself . I love being able to customize a cut and style to fit any guy/gal that comes across my chair . My favorite part is the connecting with YOU as a individual person . To me, building relationships with the guest are just as important as the cut you're going to create . I can go on and on but why do that when you can schedule a service with me @franksdenver ! I am always taking new clients and I look forward to having y'all in my chair . See ya soon🫶🏼
