there is not a single living creature on this planet unrelated to me that I have loved as long or unconditionally as this tiny dude 🥺 my little swamp critter, blanket stealer, fisherpoodle, popcorn and people enthusiast alike. he turns 9 in November (why do i love scorpios? it’s a curse) and started taking supplements for his joints this year. he does big stretches when he wakes up, but hasn’t slowed down much in the ways you’d expect a “senior dog” to yet, which is a blessing. he is such a bundle of lightning and levity sorely needed in the dark seasons we have weathered together. even now as i navigate increasing health issues over the last year and a half, he keeps me going when i wouldn’t. sometimes to just get up and take a walk with him because i know he needs it is the most motivation i’ll have to leave my bed/endure pain all day. idk man. love letter to my dog bc his mortality has been hitting me lately. there’s never enough time. 💘 taken in Troy, New York by @hairofthefrog

20 min dog walk in the heart of Troy and all you can eat buffet of urban edible greens! make a diarrhea free salad (avoid dog pee tho)! would prob rather find these in a park, but if you must sidewalk-pick just don’t eat the roots and heavily wash the leaves. also check if your city sprays weed killer! ID in comments.

(download a field guide or two, check the best szn/growth period for eating, + learn to reliably ID before eating!) taken in Troy, New York by @hairofthefrog
