hairpin sound like grunge got dragged through emo’s nervous system and taught to move with post-hardcore tension. The new single has it all.

@hairpinmusic's Adam Edwards wrote #Framing around the uselessness of trying to reason with someone who has already decided the result. The song turns that feeling into a boxing ring: words thrown like punches, context left on the floor, winning treated as the only point.

“Nuance has become a casualty of modern discourse,” says Edwards. “People pick their team, adopt the positions wholesale, and bend themselves out of shape to defend it, with no desire for discussion.”

“Framing” was recorded and mixed by Edwards at Community Noise, the Dorset studio he opened in late 2023 and now uses as hairpin’s base for writing, rehearsing, recording, and filming videos. Brad Boatright mastered it at Audiosiege.

We’ve got a new deep dive with Adam on IDIOTEQ, getting into the track’s hardcore/power pop split, Angel Du$t’s influence, the band’s in-house DIY setup, and why “context is dead” became the line the whole thing turns around.
