We got to try @malakaltawouk.ca recently.
Their signature is the marinated chicken (tawouk) and you can have it in wraps or burgers, grilled or breaded+fried.

The ingredients are clean, fresh and simple. Everything is standardized so you’ll get the same taste and quality every time.

We tried their wraps, burgers, platters and sides. The chicken bites (breaded and fried) with some of their house-made sauces turned out to be our favourite item on the menu.

The service is quick and friendly and the prices are very reasonable. More reasons to check it out!

Finally got to try the banana pudding from @happyrollsdessertbar. They’ve got a few flavor options, I got the cookie butter option (biscoff flavor) and really enjoyed it. It’s creamy, indulgent and delicious. 🤤

When it comes to lamb, Yemeni cuisine is a top choice. We checked out @sabaapalace.ca and fell in love with their fahsa + mulawah bread. Lamb haneeth is also very good. Adani tea is the perfect ending to the meal.

Make sure to try it out if you haven’t already!

Everyone goes to @shawarmaderoza for their halwa puri on weekends. It’s great, don’t get me wrong (it’s a weekly tradition for my kids).

BUT you have been sleeping on their keema paratha and saag paratha combo. Trust me, they’re both 10/10. And chai too, of course. 😍

Picnic season isn’t over yet. Enjoy as many as you can! Lots of quick grab n go options but here’s some we picked up recently:

A moment for the desserts at @tartelette_bakerycafe. ✨
Checked out the new Kanata location with friends and it was a nice cozy vibe.
Desserts are halal, double check for savoury items.
Indoor and outdoor seating available.
🥐 Croissants are very good. I recommend the pistachio rose and hazelnut pain au chocolat.

Current fav sub in town is the swiss mushroom steak from @mrlazizsubs. It’s for when I’m craving a meaty sandwich. The beef is super tender and the flavor is caramelized onion forward. A must try cuz it’s a 10/10 for me.

Check out the new @vanillecafeandbakery in Stittsville for some delicious halal food.
They’re serving breakfast and lunch all day, along with hand crafted drinks and desserts. We got to try some of their dishes and loved our experience.

Top recommendations:
- omlette with khlii (dried meat)
- Moroccan breakfast plate
- kofte
- pistachio kunafe cheesecake

They’ll be launching Canadian style breakfast soon. And yes, everything is halal. :)

Easily the city’s best Turkish breakfast/brunch. You need to try it this weekend at @tava.kitchen!
