Secrets and Masks 🖤

My first ever fanfic (don’t judge me), my first 6 ⭐️ read of the year ✨ AND my first ever buddy read with the ultimate bbygirl bestie, Sophie @goodgirlsbookclubco 🫶🏽

This story was emotionally devastating and I don’t think I’ll ever truly recover. I have been SOBBING all day. I cried so much that I got dehydrated and had to take a nap. I am a little bit dead inside 🌚

Secrets and Masks is set during wartime, about a decade after the Battle of Hogwarts where Voldemort won, and Hermione is captured by Draco. My goodness, this had me gripped through all 1400 pages. The story itself was phenomenal and there are some absolutely gut wrenching lines 😭🤌🏽

DRACO 😍🥰 He is SPECTACULAR. Morally black, deeply traumatised and giving the most delicious ‘touch her and die’ vibes 👀 He would genuinely tear himself and the world apart for his family.

Demon Mask Draco IS the standard. No other MMC is deserving of my time (I don’t mean you, Rhysand, my love 🥲)

I loved this version of Hermione too🌻 She is so fiercely intelligent with the Gryffindor spirit, but hardened by the war. I loveeeeeedddd that she was genuinely feared by both Death Eaters and the Order throughout. The burn was agonisingly slow, but she does indeed walk Draco like a dawg 💅

We had a dragon and a potato obsessed house-elf, but Theo Nott was the true scene stealer😂 The shagging and baldie Voldie jokes had me cackling. My new favourite psychopath 💗

This fic is no longer available on AO3 but I’m so so excited for it to be trad published as Under The Iron Sky. I can’t wait to be traumatised all over again 🙃

DAYBREAK EEEEEEEEEK 💕

These beautiful editions from @theworksstores were released on Monday, but I have my signed preorder of the OG cover from @bookloversbookshop coming on Thursday for the actual release day! 😍

I loved Nightshade and I was so lucky to receive an eARC of Daybreak 🙌🏽

Daybreak was one of my most anticipated reads of 2026 and is everything I could have wished for and more from a concluding sequel. This wraps up all the loose ends from Nightshade and gives you MORE. I could die a happy woman✨

If Nightshade is Ophelia’s book, then Daybreak is Alex’s. I loved him in Nightshade but I appreciated him so much more in Daybreak.

Daybreak builds on the gothic atmosphere, murder mystery and love for jelly beans, but also tackles some important issues. The representation of depression was so real and sobering. The unsent emails 😭 I loved how Ophelia healed from her trauma then helped Alex heal.

My favourite scenes were definitely all the ones featuring Vincenzo and Belladonna 😂 Both show love & care to Ophelia but in very different ways. I can’t lie, I felt like Ophelia needed to pull it together and just be THERE for Alex as he’s ALWAYS been there for her and Belladona gave her the brutal truth. I am both fearful and a little obsessed with her ☺️

The epilogue was sad and beautiful, and ends this story perfectly. I did in fact go and touch grass after finishing (might have also shed a tear or two aswell…)

LY Alex Corbeau-Green’s thighs. Thank you for your service - you were a great time & I’ll miss you 🫶🏽
