A former Wyman’s blueberry farm is now home to Lantern Camp, a unique Maine destination where guests can immerse themselves in the outdoors while most of the landscape remains untouched.

Haley Ward helped make this vision a reality, working with the owners to plan a 24-cabin getaway on 166 acres while limiting development to just two acres.

Happy World Architecture Day!

Architecture is about more than designing a building. It’s about understanding how a space needs to work and finding creative ways to make it better.

The Car Barn in Walpole, Massachusetts, is a great example. This 28,500-square-foot facility was designed for car enthusiasts, combining high-end vehicle storage, detailing bays, client amenities, event space, and even a racing simulator.

Through thoughtful planning and vertical storage, the Haley Ward team helped the facility accommodate nearly twice the number of vehicles originally anticipated, while a smaller footprint eliminated the need for a planned stormwater system and saved the client approximately $1 million in construction costs.

There was plenty to celebrate at the ribbon cutting for the expanded Biddeford Primary School! The new addition brings PreK through Grade 2 students together on one early-learning campus, giving Biddeford’s youngest learners a place to learn, grow, and build connections from the very beginning.

Haley Ward was proud to provide civil engineering, MEP engineering, structural engineering, and surveying services for the $9 million expansion. With 16 new classrooms and learning spaces, an outdoor classroom, Head Start space, and even the Tiger Tail slide, this project is already making a difference for Biddeford families.

We’re proud to have helped create a space that will be part of so many young students’ first school experiences for years to come. Congratulations to everyone who helped bring this project to life!

A new potato chip manufacturing facility is bringing jobs and economic activity to northern Maine.

Haley Ward was proud to partner with Buck Construction Inc, the project’s general contractor, on the development of Taste of Maine Potato Chips’ 92,000-square-foot facility at the former Loring Air Force Base in Limestone. Our team provided surveying, natural resource surveys, site design, permitting, and public outreach services throughout the project.

Now in operation, the facility is connecting Maine-grown potatoes with a growing manufacturing operation while creating opportunities for local farmers, workers, and businesses and contributing to the continued redevelopment of the former Loring site.

Eventide at Badgers Island brings 10 new residences to a beautiful waterfront site along the Piscataqua River in Kittery, Maine.

Making the most of a coastal property comes with its own set of challenges. Haley Ward worked with the project team from the early planning stages through permitting and construction, providing surveying, engineering, site planning, and permitting services.

The design had to work within shoreland zoning and setback requirements, environmental constraints, and the existing conditions of the site. Thoughtful grading helped make underground parking possible, while an alternate drainage system addressed the property’s waterfront requirements. Our team also helped guide the project through Planning Board approvals, permitting for a six-slip dock, and the conversion to condominium ownership.

We’re proud to have played a part in bringing this waterfront redevelopment to life.

Recently, SeniorsPlus celebrated the ribbon cutting of its new Encompass Education and Nutrition Center in Lewiston, Maine, and our Haley Ward team was there to help celebrate the occasion!

The new center brings together nutrition, education, wellness, and opportunities for connection to support the growing needs of older adults and adults with disabilities throughout Western Maine.

Recently, Friends of Katahdin Woods & Waters National Monument celebrated the completion of renovations at the Park Loop Overlook with a ribbon cutting ceremony held as part of Woods & Waters Day. And what better way to celebrate than at one of the most beautiful overlooks in Maine?

Woods & Waters Day commemorates the August 2016 designation of the monument and celebrates a decade of conservation, recreation, stewardship, and partnerships across this incredible 87,500-acre landscape.

Haley Ward was proud to be part of the team behind the improvements to the Park Loop Overlook. Our team provided site design, and survey services for the project, helping enhance this scenic destination and its experience for the many visitors who come to explore Katahdin Woods and Waters.

It’s always rewarding to see a project move from plans and drawings to a finished place that people can actually experience. And this one comes with some pretty spectacular views.
