Bertha is still putting in "bi daily" work. I really wish I had the time or care to record every drive but I simply don't. I seriously cannot stress how much abuse and daily driving this setup took, so I can't be too mad at the trans (3rd one to break 3rd). Every single drive consisted of AT LEAST 1-2 WOT pulls, then 40+ tune revisions with 3 fuel types (93, E35, E85), all the datalog to go with the 40+ tunes and a few local races with normal traffic around the new casa (Brandon FL was so much better with people that Wanted to race).

I thought backing it down to 6psi or around 500whp even (430ftlbs roughly) would do the trick and keep this trans happy, which it did for 35k miles, but ultimately the same thing happened... 3rd gear is toast. A lot of people I've seen tend to break 4th but for street tuning safety reasons I like 3rd gear and I've found how to skew the tune to reflect the proper AFR at 1:1 gearing (aka 4th Gear). Hint - higher gears have more load = richer AFR.

Anyways, just wanted to give you guys a Bertha update. I'm in no rush to fix her with the AWD coming and Torta is going under the knife. I already have 3 mods sitting in the shop for Torta and hopefully I can clear out all of YOUR GUYS PnP orders so I can do my J35Y2 PnP Manifold and runners. Sometimes I miss being a normal DIY guy, I had all the time to work on my car 😭😜 I wouldn't change anything for the world though, your guys ROCK !

Here we go again. Of course I'm blocked. See below (yeah sorry, not easy fitting 28 emails worth of info in one post) and 'll address this next week. Another reason we stay off FB, just people slandering others (usually us) with no proof, but as you know I keep receipts . So I'll also print out the 28 emails for you guys to review with me and show had bad HLP Products is. 28+ emails, 9+ hours of support, offered full refund 5x, sent a return label 3x, this guy story changes everytime anything but the cams are assumed as causing the issue.
- he claims "the cams are causing weak combustion....whatever that means but let's role with that. I asked if he did a leak down and compression check because it would tell us and He said he has 240psi of compression but then still claims the cams are letting air out. If you didn't know 240psi is TERRIFIC compression
-Meaning the cams are opening and closing properly, letting in a ton of air in and holding it in the cylinders . In this case "weak combustion " would mean weak spark
- THEN he says he pulls all coil packs from that bank and hears "almost no noise change ". AGAIN points at an ignition/spark issue since the audible noise change when 3 cylinders shuts off is very apparent...yet he still claims the cams are letting air out
- he then mentions a fuel smell, Aka unburnt fuel...aka AGAIN weak or no ignition /spark
- He DEMANDS we ship him 1 replacement cam, which #1 we cant split cam sets #2 all cams are on backorder so even if I wanted to I couldn't BECAUSE I DONT HAVE A CAM TO SEND
- He then claims on FB he's swapped cams to a new P2R cam, literally 12 hours after telling us in email yesterday that he demands a replacement so he can get his car running again. so a company shipped him a replacement in less then 12hr, he did all the work and the next morning all his fine....HLP cams are the issue?
- He never wanted to swap cams, literally the first thing I suggested. Then 26 emails in he claims all of the checks were by a master mechanic who inspected the cams with zero machines or cam doctor software...but again he doesn't get his way a new myth is created. Then threatens a lawyer in email 23, AFTER refund offerd by @halferland_performance

Finally had some time to document the PnP process with few orders these past couple weeks. We had a couple HLP' J35 Mag manifolds, HLP 81mm Billet throttle body, a couple J37 Mani's and Throttle Bodies, a stage 3 J37 manifold (full port and polished interior) and even a J30/J32 Throttle Body in for a Venturi port. Obviously these aren't the finished products but we have plenty of posts showing how we do that....HLP Titanium Intake manifold and Top plate dress up bolt kits, HLP Intake Temp Reducing Ceramic Enamel Paint, etc etc

We've been churning engines out and while we usually post built J-Series blocks, I wanted to show that we also spare no expense with our NA rebuilds. This is just an OEM rebuild with some goodies and compression added to achieve 11:1 with his 07-08' Acura TL Type S. It gets all the same treatment our Titanium Featherweight and 1000hp capable blocks get. One down, (3) to go.....

Torta finally got her PLM Long Tube J-pipe installed!!! Fitment was 👌👌and looks fantastic. I posted before and after sound clips. She definitely has more tone now (more "growl" ) but is held back due to stock 150k cats and small stock cat back. Power wise is pretty noticeable, especially in the 2500-4000rpm range but I haven't had a chance to retune full wot or redline so I'm just cruising around for now and until I can do that.

We attempted to do the same to my buddies 8th Gen Accord 6-6 coupe but somehow the nuts were worse than my Ohio cars (his is a FL car) and it looked like someone was in there before and nearly all nuts were rounded out. So off to the muffler shop for him, and yes, we applied heat and PB but the nuts were too bad. My welder sucks and my sawzall is from 1850's and the batteries are no longer made 🤣🤣 I usually use grinders with cutoff wheels, so I never really needed the sawzall all that much.

Random note, as seen in the pics, it looks like both the 8th and 9th Gen Accord have aluminum subframes like the 07-08 TL-Type S. I thought that was cool and note worthy. There's definitely some weight savings in that too.
