We hope everyone had a fantastic world cyanotype day!

Yesterday was a great afternoon of drop-ins at @hari_artsresearch as part of their "Adrift with nothing but what i can carry" exhibition in collaboration with @unthinkable.hull.

Drawing on the themes of the exhibition we invited visitors to make cyanotypes using the items in their pockets, items they carry through every day. by @halfframefullflavour

We are so impressed with all of the works in our Adrift exhibition, and the range of beautiful, accomplished, intelligent, interesting, sensitive and powerful responses the 37 artists have presented.

To help us explore some of the themes and processes within the exhibition, we have a number of free workshops over the next couple of weeks.

For World Cyanotype Day on Saturday 26th September, and reflecting ideas and materials of their individual pieces within the exhibition – ‘Tether’ and ‘Buried’ – @halfframefullflavour invite you to make a cyanotype print with them. A drop-in activity during exhibition times (2-7pm), use objects you are carrying to create an image to carry away.

David Lau will also be in 2-4pm, inviting visitors to write/draw and make paper boats to add to an installation.

Watch out for info on further workshops, Artist Talks, and performance nights taking place during the exhibition!

A series of photograms made with the guidance of @victoriasmith.uk in the newly constructed dark room by @halfframefullflavour at @hari_artsresearch

I wanted to explore and experiment with some of the objects im thinking about a lot - dried leaves from the garden (sycamore), dead roots, plastic tree guard and bark (birch). I really, really enjoyed the process and, hopefully, will get back in the dark room soon to play some more!

We really enjoyed learning about the cyanotype process in our workshop with @halfframefullflavour at @fountain_arts in Scunthorpe earlier this week. We got chance to experiment with the Victorian process using our own photographs, make our work into a mini zine and coat some paper to try at home 🎞️

A big thank you to our facilitators and all participants for getting stuck in, what a brilliant day!
