I just gave a lift…
and in return, She took me to her village in Uttarakhand that doesn’t even exist on maps.

An 83 year old dadi had one condition
“You have to explore my village and drink tea made by me.”
She also took me to a secret waterfall, a hot water kund, a local temple…
Experiences I’ll remember for life.
The warmth they both had towards us is the real feel of travelling truly experienced the Indian philosophy अतिथि देवो भवः

band ho jaata hai aur andar ki awaaz shuru ho jaati hai.

8 saal Himalaya mein ghoomne ke baad pehli baar laga ki
kuch jagahein tumhe dhoondhti hain tum unhe nahi.

Kedarnath… is not here for 6 months.
Most people visit Kedarnath in Uttarakhand,
but very few know where it actually stays during winter.
When heavy snowfall shuts down Kedarnath (at 3,583 m),
the worship continues 40 km from Rudraprayag,
in a quiet Himalayan village called Ukhimath.
Here lies the winter seat of Kedarnath — Omkareshwar Temple.
No crowd. No noise. Just pure peace at around 1,300 m altitude.
Uttarakhand is full of famous places…
but the real magic lives in the ones people skip.
Maybe… the real Kedarnath isn’t just a destination,
