“When you get access to this kind of [studio] space with the vibes that it has, it feels like we can really hear the music, we can let the ideas sit—it’s almost like this neutral space, but there’s just such good energy. We really could hear and think through, out loud, this conceptual stuff we’re talking about musically.” —Tina Satter, Spring 2026 Residency Artist 🎥: @jdisc.mov @jkellerfilm by @halfstraddle

Obie-winning playwright and director Kristina Satter and her company Half Straddle (@halfstraddle) present a work-in-progress showing of PETRA‌, the company’s new adaptation of Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s 1972 film, The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant, which follows a fashion designer living in self-imposed isolation.  When Petra falls in love with a beautiful young female mode her world begins to unravel.‌ ‌As their relationship shifts and fractures,‌ her emotional control slips. PETRA is a psychological chamber piece: intimate, intense, and laced with cruelty and love.‌ 🗓️ Jan 8-12 📍 Park Avenue Armory 🎟️ Purchase tickets and see access notes and content warnings in our bio. #UTR26 #UTR #UTRFest by @halfstraddle
