WHEN DID FOLLOWERS BECOME A MEASURE OF OUR WORTH? I keep seeing girls asking other girls to support them, follow them, like their reels, and help them grow. And honestly, it makes me wonder… When did we reach a point where we have to ask strangers to validate our existence? When did Instagram become our identity? When did the number of followers we have start defining how successful, beautiful, interesting, or worthy we are? Somewhere along the way, we started confusing attention with achievement, popularity with happiness, and likes with self-worth. A girl with 100 followers might be living a beautiful, fulfilling life, while someone with 100,000 followers might still feel like she’s not enough. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with supporting other women, building a community, or wanting to grow on social media. But why have we started feeling that we need this validation? Why does a reel with 20 likes make us question ourselves? Why does someone else’s success make us feel like we’re falling behind? Your life is not a competition for attention. You are more than your profile. More than your pictures. More than the number displayed beneath your name. And perhaps the saddest part is that we’re so busy trying to be seen by strangers that we’re forgetting to appreciate the lives we’re actually living. Instagram is a platform. It was never supposed to become our identity. Just something I think we need to talk about. 🤍#LondonLife #LondonGirls #LondonInfluencers #UKContentCreators #LondonReels by @halimekhx
