“God’s Children Aren’t for Sale” out now. Thank you to every single one of you who brought this song to life. And a very special thank you to Dr. David Hahn who made this all possible and to Dr. Clifford Lambert for directing the band. What a privilege to stand together for the Kingdom of Light. Link to listen is in my bio 🤍 by @halleharper
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice.” – Proverbs 31:8-9 I had the opportunity to write a song about the grave reality of sex trafficking in a songwriting class in college where my professor challenged us to write a song that “takes a stand.” In that very moment, Holy Spirit whispered to me “Write a song with only five words in the chorus: God’s Children Aren’t for Sale.” I by no means felt equipped to write this song, but I quickly realized that saying “yes” to the Lord doesn’t require the “how.” It’s a step of faith into His leading, and an invitation to know His heart more. Part of what has stayed with me most in writing this song is that the Lord would entrust us with even a glimpse of what grieves His heart, so that our hearts would begin to break for what breaks His. This Monday, October 26th, this song will be performed live by Vessel, a Liberty University School of Music band, at the JuST Hope Conference, where people are rallying together to stand against the evil of human trafficking. My prayer is that this song would be more than something we sing. That it would expose this evil worldwide and unite believers in proclaiming truth, praying with the kind of faith that believes that we are on the winning side. All because we serve a God who is greater than the evil we see in this world. “God’s Children Aren’t for Sale” out tomorrow, 10/23, at midnight, sung by the amazing @crissaamor_davis — Presave link in my bio. by @halleharper
I’m living the good life. And it’s not because everything has gone perfectly in this season. It actually feels like the contrary. I’ve been trudging through this life transition, Trying to find my footing in the middle of the quiet, the noise, and the unreached balance of it all. And yet– I’m living the good life, Because I will never live a day where I don’t belong to Jesus. I’ve never known belonging like I do right here & now, and it’s not because of my surroundings, but because of Who surrounds me. The good life is so simple: As you go on to move and breathe, consider Him. It may not change how you feel in a given moment, but it will change your perspective. And then you’ll start to see that every part of this life can be enjoyed. There is adventure in the mundane, There is joy in thinking about the person in front of you. There is freedom in letting what you can’t control slide off your back, knowing there is purpose in the present because nothing is wasted in His presence. The now is right where He wants to meet you. There is rejoicing in watching those around you receive blessings from God’s hand while You get to trust that He is simultaneously meeting your every need. This song lyric pretty much sums up what it means to live the good life: “My weariness is swallowed in the kindness of our covenant.” To let Him have our full attention, as He is fully attentive to us. How wonderful is the companionship of the Savior. by @halleharper

“Come & dine” by me :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The table. A place where people gather, eat until they can’t, laugh until they cry, and secure a seat belonging somewhere. You belong at this table- Not because you earned your spot, But because He chose to extend out His hand to you. The catch is that there is no catch. The King has personally invited you. He wants to have conversations with you. He wants to provide for you. He wants to satisfy your needs & desires. He wants to bring you into life giving community. I can’t say enough to convince you how incredible it really is, you’ll just have to experience it for yourself. Once you’ve tasted & seen, you won’t be full on anything the world has to offer. All are invited, none are forgotten. How you answer is up to you. He wants your everything, and in that decision to take your seat at the King’s table, He wants to lavish His love on you & give you life to the fullest. There’s no better time than now to come & dine. by @halleharper
Learning that abundance is lived, and that it’s a perspective of gratitude :) That it doesn’t necessarily have to be felt, but it’s something to be stewarded. Life to the fullest is this: I have been caught up in knowing Him, as I am fully known by Him- The God of Abundance. “The thief comes only to kill and steal and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10 NIV by @halleharper
“Heavenward” by me 🕊️🤍 “The path of life leads upward for the wise; they leave the grave behind.” Proverbs 15:24 NLT by @halleharper
