For years, my mom Maria Aracely brought flowers to the Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary in our home — she was joyful, giggled easily , was generous, gave Christmas gifts to the mailman and the garbage men. Living her Catholic faith and her love for Jesus were her life, after her family. After we arrived in Canada, we didn't have a lot but she always gave to the new immigrant families like ours and sometimes she would ask me to accompany her . Her presence was so peaceful, my Mami 🤍.

She would tell me:
*"You must forgive 70 x 7."*
*"Don't judge those in grave sin — they are suffering. Pray for them."*
*"El Señor es grande."* 🙏
* I love your dad more now than on the day we got married 🤍* He is the husband God chose as my husband " ,and their love, I am so grateful for.

When my brother passed, she wore **white** to his funeral.
*"Heaven rejoices today. There is a banquet there for my son."*

That was Maria. That was my mom. ✝️

When she left us on May 12, 1998, I felt like a motherless daughter for years. I began bringing flowers to Mary — the way she always had — and slowly, stubbornly, I turned my gaze to Our Lady.

And I realized — **I was never motherless.**

Mary, whom my mom loved so faithfully, became MY Mother too. And she has been leading this stubborn one to Jesus ever since. 💙

28 years later, I still miss her — but mostly, I thank God.
For a mother named Maria, who was born on earth...
and who gave me a desire to know the Jesus who made her so strong, so joyful, so FREE.

And for a Mother in heaven who never lets go and who is always with me and with my loved ones and all her children . 🌸

There is so much more I could say about her . My dad 🤍took many of these pictures except the black and white ones .

The Child is born.
The Son is born.
He is born from His Mother .
For nine months, like every newborn child , He was tied to her womb . He is born " From His Mother " in time and in accord with the laws of human time for births. He is "born eternally from the Father " . He is the Son of God . He is the Word.
He brings with Him into the world all the love of the Father for human beings . He is the revelation of Divine Philanthropy. In Him the Father gives Himself to every person , and in Him is confirmed the eternal inheritance of human beings in God. In Him is revealed , to the very end , " the future of the human race ." He speaks of the significance and the sense of human life, independently of any suffering or handicap that could weigh upon this life, in its earthly dimensions . St. John Paul ll

Discouragement can get the best of us. Mary could have been discouraged. But she held fast to all the teachings of Jesus. She maintained her faith. In those moments when we want to give up, let us remind ourselves of Mary’s example. Remember Good Friday and how she stayed by Jesus. We might want to give up on God, faith, or prayer. For a few weeks , I had hoped to find these books , I shared it with my dear friend . Well, I prayed for them and hoped and was still hoping . These arrived to me just now . I am speechless 🙊 😶 and so grateful 🙏. Gracias Bambi 💖 y a la super abundancia de tu gran corazón.

This rose decided to grow in my friend Bambi's Albuquerque backyard ! The only one rose in her backyard . She thinks it is a sign of hope and of answered prayers. It surely gave me joy receiving this picture. The time of singing has come and our Blessed Mother loves roses and her daughters. by @hallel7
