First forget inspiration. Habit is more dependable. Habit will sustain you whether you’re inspired or not. Habit will help you finish and polish your stories. Inspiration won’t. Habit is persistence in practice.~ Octavia Butler, Bloodchild and Other Stories by @hallemillien

The days are long but the years are short.

Beyond grateful for these three.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines! Sail away from safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover! -~ Mark Twain

If you know her, you know she lives by this quote. As an avid sailor and beacon of light, @thedollyturner has always done things her way. Our family continues to follow in her footsteps.

Part of these clips include a fire dancer celebration and birthday song because…why be simple when you can be stunning?!?

Thank you to all those who sent birthday videos. 80 years and many more to go. Each year she reminds us of how much more life there is to be lived.

We are filled with gratitude that we could celebrate her as a family this week and continue to see her thrive.

Love you to the end of the universe!

Sunday with my boys by @hallemillien

18 years of cuddles and love.

Over the past 18 years, if you knew me, you knew Brooklyn. She was a gift from my sister and best friend as I left New York for my first full time design role. Through the years as I challenged myself to get better as a designer, every late night as I learned new skills and had to meet crazy deadlines, she would keep me company. She ushered me through many, many of my major life milestones. My partnership and marriage, the birth of my two children, deaths of those most dear to me, the purchase of our first home with many plane rides and dreaded vet visits in between.

This past week we had to say goodbye to her as a family. As she lay in my arms, my guys all told her how wonderful a pet she was and how much we loved her. She was our family.

She is missed dearly and every morning as I get the boys ready for school and journal with my coffee, I miss her walking around my legs to say good morning. Now she is resting peacefully.

I was never a cat lady. I was always a Brooklyn lady. by @hallemillien

Mom and Dad had a time last night! Incredibly grateful to celebrate the love of Natasha and Thomas with friends who were originally my coworkers. Now we all are so much more to each other. 💛💛💛

We discuss X wings, Y wings and A wings over breakfast. A common phrase heard around our home is “You don’t need your droid to brush your teeth!”

I’m not a regular mom, I’m a Star Wars mom.

The boys were born into fandom through their father. There was never a choice. 😆
Looking forward to the @fossil launch of their @starwars collection today 💛

April came and went so quickly but memories were made and friendships were forged. Jewelry was the accessory that I never left home without.

Cheers to an even better May.
