2021 was another year full of firsts for our whole family: Henry’s first word (it was ‘Mama’, in case anyone was wondering), Henry’s first steps that quickly transitioned to running, and that we can attribute Pal’s “extra fluffiness” to the goldmine of scraps that can be found at the perimeter of Henry’s high chair. Pal suddenly became more tolerant of Henry’s "affection" when he understood what could be gained, literally.

We also realized for the first time that that it could, in fact, be drier than it was in 2017...and the '80s, or so we’re told. The drought brought fires that were too close for comfort. Despite the tough conditions, our livestock and home weathered the year.

I’m continuing to work as a Clinical Lab Scientist at the hospital in Wolf Point. Henry gets to enjoy time with his doting Grandma & Grandma Steppler while I’m away at work or helping Michael on the ranch. Thankfully FaceTime brings Grandpa and Grandma Bronec much closer. We’re grateful for the constants in our lives—jobs, generous neighbors, supportive friends, and a loving family. Cheers to 2022!
