The deepening of my journey into vibration & sound continues to unravel in a very profound way. It’s connecting me to so many wonderful people & magic. V grateful to @dorrie.joy @madre.sl for wrapping up my March in ceremony. Image by the talented & magical @humakabakci by @halmondbarr
I’ve been having acupuncture for years now as a way to maintain my health &energy. It is one of the key tools in my tool kit for looking after myself & so the wonderul @alicemayacupuncture (my acupuncturist) & I got together to create a group acupuncture + movement session. This 2 hour workshop is all about clearing blockages & restoring balance in the body & it combines some of my favorite tools: breath-work, yin, sound & acupuncture. See you there. by @halmondbarr
I’ve been talking a lot about the yoga I’m doing here so cannot exclude @madre.sl - I created MADRE with Tam Klien in 2023 & we had such a wonderful time making space & connections. Leaving in Dec ‘24 to spend 6 months in Australia meant I had to step away and Tam continued to evolve the company. Tam is doing incredible things & it must be shared far and wide. During lockdown Em & I sat in our garden imagining adventures & ventures. One of those was a wellness community for queer, trans & non- binary folk with workshops and retreats at the front of it. I missed strength &weight training with my talented queer friends& colleagues & wanted to see more spaces that were safe & inclusive. It’s not about excluding others but simply being queer centric so the only work that has to be done in the space is the workout & the workin. I grew up deeply uncomfortable with a big part of myself & had to do a lot of extra work to feel comfortable in spaces I was afraid to be fully myself in. Yes Queer is about spaces free of prejudice , shame & judgement. This is not to say that spaces that aren’t specified for queer + folk are going to be places of judgment &prejudice. There are men’s circles, there are women’s circles in the world & they have their value &importance. So it feels good to create circles for everyone else to move in. I’m excited to share this with you & the talented trans, non- binary & queer folk that are teaching alongside me. A big thank you to @__sarah__warner__ for coming onboard & making shit happen, @dukescoastlineclub for the logo & more & @zed_tea_gee @theythemstudio for the tech wizardry. by @halmondbarr
This year I’m one of the senior teachers on @liorwellnessstudio & @middlepathmother ‘s year long 200hr yoga TT. It’s fantastic seeing people at the start of their yoga teaching journey & incredible to have the size of the group purposely intimate for the best learning experience. by @halmondbarr
From next month I’m going to be teaching something I’m calling Big Yoga, a 90 min class once a month on a Monday, at 7.15-8.45pm at The Humble Heart. It will be 60min of strong vinyasa followed by 30min of yin yoga specially designed around the season with crystal bowls during yin. More info to come. 📸 @_lyndalaird by @halmondbarr
During winter, on Sunday evenings, I teach something I’ve been calling Big Yin online. I started doing it in lockdown & have continued with the same community that grows as I do. It’s 90min of yin yoga, meditation, breathwork and nidra specifically designed to be done from your bedroom or living room. It’s about reducing stimulation so you don’t have to go anywhere after the session but be at home, it’s about promoting radical rest and it’s about coming home to yourself. It might be my favourite thing I teach. It’s always pay what you can, so that accessing this isn’t about how much £ you have or can make. And those that can pay more do which enables those that can’t to attend and pay the amount they can contribute. 📸 @_lyndalaird by @halmondbarr
You’ll find me teaching something strong and connected on Tuesday’s at 7.30-8.30pm at The Humble Hub and Saturday’s 9-10am at the Humble Heart. Moving my body with a focus on breath & its expansion is such a valuable tool for navigating the ups and downs & I love sharing that with you. See you on the mat. You can book via my website which is in my bio. 📸 @_lyndalaird by @halmondbarr

What a joy to teach my first real life class on Monday morning @blok covering for the brilliant @zoemariayoga . Clapton regulars you filled me with so much love, thank you for getting out of bed so early! I’ll let you know when I am back again. 🌈 - Being a really authentic & present teacher is not easy, it costs a lot of energy to teach something real & not simply some cookie cutter claptrap but wow it was good& I need to hone my teaching again to make sure I’m always delivering the best of what I can! - Being a parent is the ultimate yoga - non attachment, surrender, being fully present & paying attention to the moment, kindness, generosity & moments of pure bliss. It’s also the hardest thing I’ve ever done- the most wonder filled wonderful but crikey! I’m evolving into a new me, with a new mind & body and I’m excited to share the new me with you. - @felixmortimer @margotm.m @suebensenyor @doctorshousewife @nikkisaunders21 @edstanbury @smithhtims @sharlala.jewellery by @halmondbarr
