Rest in peace Noah Krussow. We first met when we were 13 years old and pretty much spent every day together for the next 12 years. His energy was infectious, his drive to make music and play shows was as strong as mine, and his humor was unlike anyone I had ever met. We wrote so much music together as kids, practiced, hung out, laughed for hours, drove around Oregon, countless Taco Bell trips. We moved to LA together straight out of high school and he lived on my patio on a mattress outside and I lived in the living room, we roughed it together and we survived together to try to make something of ourselves. No one understood me like Noah. We partied, we fought, we laughed, cried, struggled, talked, dreamed and we were brothers. I’ve never been as close to someone as I was to Noah and I don’t think I ever will be. It was a special moment in time where you can spend 12 years just playing, growing and exploring life together. I’ll miss you dude, thanks for the countless memories.

35 today! This year so far has pretty much been adjusting to living in Nashville. I didn’t realize how long it would take to settle in to such a big move. It had been 10 years since I had last moved and a lot had changed for me. I learned it’s never too late to start over at a new place if the old one no longer works. Go with your gut, I was worried I might be moving to a place that wasn’t as good as what I already had but my wife and I trusted our gut and so far it’s been better than we could have ever imagined. We’ve had so much support in person and online and that’s been so helpful. I haven’t played as many shows as I thought I would have by now but I know that will come. I’ve met so many incredible people in my first 7 months of living here and I’m so happy to be celebrating with some of them tonight. Thanks for all the birthday love and for all the support this year so far. I love you all
