A few years ago, I started feeling like ass. I thought maybe I was just tired. Maybe it was allergies. Maybe it was just something, whatever, it’s fine. It progressively got worse and I started seeing doctor after doctor trying to find out what was happening and how to fix it. With no answers.

Was it my heart? Was it Covid? POTS? My brain?
Turns out, it was none of those things. My doctor gave me the official results this morning:
I have thyroid cancer.

I’m not scared. I’m not worried. I’m RELIEVED.
I finally have an answer. I can finally start down the road of recovery and feeling like myself again. I’m so excited that sometime soon, I’ll be able to go on a dang walk with my dog and my man and not feel like my heart is gonna explode five minutes in.

I’ll still be tattooing as much as possible but I’m also going to give myself a little grace. Allow my body to heal the way it needs to. Please, bear with me as I find out more details and figure out a plan. If you have an appointment, it’ll still happen, I just might need to move you around a little more for the time being until everything is situated.

The c word is scary. I have incredible folks in my corner and it’ll be okay. We know what it is so now, we fight it, because we do not yield.

Today is my 5 year anniversary at Cauldron. It’s a little bittersweet if I’m honest. I haven’t been to the shop or seen my station since June 26th. My board just barely got filled this year when usually there’s layers and layers of y’all’s drawings and projects. It’s been hard, this whole year, and the year before. I miss my friends and clients. I miss my health and life. But I’m so incredibly thankful for all of you. I wouldn’t have this privilege without you and I’m very grateful for all of it even if it’s been a little rough lately.
