6 months into learning my camera. Here are some of my favorite shots.

Phalaenopsis is the name of the genus for the moth orchid. I don’t know which species this one is. I took this photo to practice slow shutter speed. This is when I really started to understand my manual settings… took me long enough.

I think this was a royal cemetery… I’m actually not too sure but I remember we couldn’t walk on these stone paths that lined the dirt because the spirits used them.

Got to co-liaison for this lovely group led by Caroline and Miguel during Open House. I’ve been listening to this song every day ever since. Left the night incredibly inspired. Go watch their full set on The Hive’s YouTube.

We’ll eventually cross that bridge. Until then, walk with me.

This was the day I started verbally giving flowers to people. I’ve never used that phrase before. I love flowers. If I can’t give them physically, know that Im offering my congratulations and trying to give all the recognition I can possibly offer.

………..hey! 👋 Congrats again Stever miss you man

Boys being boys. If it weren’t for them I probably wouldn’t have freestyled as much throughout the season. They’ll always be dancing, no matter the time or place.

We got pretty lucky with this spot. Almost slid down nature’s slide getting here but it was worth it. We’ll be back, West Coast.

A friend asked me why I like taking photos of others. I’ve never thought of why but I think it’s similar to why I enjoy memoirs. I think our personal stories are the most interesting and complex narratives we can share. If the photos I take can help relive those stories, I’m happy to bring the silly little machine everywhere I go. Obviously, still a work in progress, and it does end up as a burden on my end, but as long as something is captured on the way… :) by @hamjunn

Meet Peter! Peter is probably the coolest creative I’ve ever met: founder of @dnceclub_ , creative director, choreographer, and home barista, Peter connects his professional talents with his passions to connect the NYC dance community and beyond. I met Peter in Isidro’s class and I’ve been admiring his movement from afar (personal fav is his choreo to “Swim”), so I was very excited when this opportunity came around ☺️☺️. I laughed so much making this one thank you for listening to all my childish suggestions and for letting me pick your brain 🙂‍↕️

6/12 this one has to be the most unserious one yet. Not sure how I feel abt this one in terms of flow but I mostly just wanted to make the animation 🙂 Happy World Cup and LGK.

Meet Yubin! I went up to Yubin during Haeni’s pop-up class, and thank goodness I did because she’s one of the coolest dancers I know. Coming from South Korea a little over a year ago, Yubin has settled in NYC, sharing her art with the dance community here. Yubin is a true reflection of her craft: so creative but never sacrificing foundations. Thank you for being so excited to do this with me and for pulling up with an insane choreo like what im gagged ㅜㅜ

Meet Peter! Peter is a dancer trained in animation and tutting, who also has experience on choreography-based teams in California and New Jersey. Even with his insane schedule, he never fails to show up for his friends and teammates to session routines or join a community cypher. I met Peter through joining the Wannabes, and he is one of the sickest dancers I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet; get in a circle with him and you’ll be floored 🙂‍↕️ by @hamjunn

I have so much to say! 6 months since my first Snares and i realllyyyyyy wanted to make the most out of this one, and im so thankful to have signed up for this edition because wow im so inspired. Part of me was discouraged by all the talent and experience in the room, but another part was happy to even be in the room. When else would I get the chance to exchange this art and intention with a range of such incredible dancers??

The solo was my first attempt at having audacity. I get nervous watching this back because I approached this choreo in a way I’ve never done before. Retention got the better of me but I’ve never felt more at peace. Thank you Isidro for the opportunity to take risks and absorb lessons I’ll hold on to for a long time. In every breath that we took together and for Sam, you’ve curated a space that offers a warm light to a cold city. by @hamjunn
