Happening at DGC Lagos, 10 Kayode Alabi Layout, Ogba, Lagos!!

We are planning a HUGE Event, To help Career Professionals and Entrepreneurs reimagine the future of work; and We just have 12 DAYS.

We were privileged to be in the room last month for NAPPS Ibadan District Day 2026, themed “The Power of a Buoyant Community: Ibadan Private School Making A Difference.”

NAPPS is the national association representing private school proprietors across Nigeria, and being invited into that room, sitting with the people who actually run these schools instead of pitching to them from the outside, is a different kind of conversation.

We’ve spent months walking into school gates one at a time, over 20+ schools so far, and this was the room where that groundwork actually gets to matter.

This kind of access matters because change in Nigerian education doesn’t happen through a product alone. It happens when the institutions that schools already trust are willing to sit down and think through what’s next together. NAPPS has that trust. Being part of these conversations means we’re not just building for schools, we’re building with the people responsible for them.

What stood out to us in that room was how much proprietors already know something is shifting. The question isn’t whether AI belongs in a classroom anymore. It’s how fast it’s already showing up there, and who’s going to be the one to teach it properly.

That’s the gap Hammet exists to close, and moments like this are how we get to be part of that shift instead of watching it happen from outside. by @hammetfoundation

Most people can’t answer this question about their own future. We asked it anyway, and the answer we kept hearing surprised us.

That’s why we started a free weekly AI classroom under the Hammet Research Foundation. Two sessions in, and it’s already clear how much people needed this.

Session 3 is tomorrow, August 1st, 7:30pm.

A few weeks ago we ran a mini AI competition at Elihans School, Boys against Girls.

We wanted to see, honestly, how much these students already understood about AI beyond what they’d picked up in passing online.

What we saw stayed with us. The moment we introduced the idea of actually learning AI, not just hearing about it, the energy in that room changed. Students who’d probably never used a real AI tool were suddenly competing over it, laughing, pushing each other to get the answers right.

It also showed us how wide the gap still is. Most of what they knew came from social media, not from anyone actually teaching them how AI works or what to do with it. That gap is exactly why Hammet exists.

There’s so much more to teach them. This was just the start. We’re planning more of these AI mini-competitions in schools, both virtually and physically. If you’d like to partner or sponsor one, send us a DM or reach out at hammetedu@gmail.com. by @hammetfoundation

We didn’t start with AI.

We started with Uniscope in 2021, then Konoha in 2023, which reached over 10,000 young people.

Session 1 of Hammet AI Classroom happened last night, and the energy was 🔥

We walked through the 3 career paths in AI; most people only know one of them.

But it’s what happened after that got us:

“That AI could be implemented into so many fields, we just have to know how to apply it.”
“AI as an advanced tool just like calculator... master my key sector and use AI to be at the frontline.”

20+ people showed up ready to learn, and left with something to actually apply this week.

This is why we built the Classroom. Come learn with us next week Thursday.

The data shows that around 90% of Africa’s youth leave school without basic digital skills.

With roughly 420 million young people aged 15–35, this means hundreds of millions of Africans are not equipped to use or understand AI tools effectively.

Today, a Member of our Board of Trustees is leading the charge to solve this problem, by educating Africans Weekly, taking them into the Rabbit hole of Artificial Intelligence literacy.
