That card has been going back in the box for twenty minutes.

Clyde has already moved the rest of the shipment. Four-panel Hammy & the Crew comic titled Heavy Lifting. Clyde, a broad brown draft horse with a cream facial blaze, green shirt, brown bib overalls and gold gloves, carries two boxes beside Hammy. Hammy holds a colorful protected baseball card and asks, “Anything you can’t lift?” Clyde sets the boxes down and says, “One thing.” Hammy hugs the card while Clyde gestures toward it. Clyde says, “That card out of your hand.” Hammy replies, “Fair.” Footer: hammypuller.com. by @hammy_puller

The pack was fine. The card was fine. The weather inside the shop apparently took a turn.

Riggs is sticking with that explanation. Four-panel Hammy & the Crew comic titled Indoor Crosswind. Hammy, a pink pig in a yellow hardhat and denim overalls, asks Riggs, a russet rooster in a cream hardhat, safety glasses and navy workwear, “You nervous?” Riggs says, “Me? I’ve worked rigs in a crosswind.” He opens a silver pack and reveals a gold-bordered baseball card. Hammy says, “Your hands are shaking.” Riggs holds up the card and replies, “Indoor crosswind.” Footer: hammypuller.com. by @hammy_puller

The best card in the room might be the one somebody handed you years ago.

Clyde kept his. Four-panel Hammy & the Crew comic titled Tough to Beat. Hammy the pig asks, 'Best card at the table?' Riggs the rooster shows a shiny protected baseball card: 'Mine. Obviously.' Lemmy the owl asks, 'Define best.' Clyde the horse holds a protected old baseball card and says, 'My dad gave me this one.' Hammy smiles: 'Tough to beat.' Footer: hammypuller.com. by @hammy_puller

Cards, sleeves, stands. Clyde has done enough card shows to know what belongs next on the packing list. Four-panel comic. Hammy asks Clyde, 'Ready for the card show?' Clyde points to neatly packed card-show supplies: 'Cards. Sleeves. Stands.' Hammy asks, 'Anything else?' Clyde holds up a normal folded chair and replies, 'Experience.' by @hammy_puller

The lights are on, the sleeves are ready, and everybody suddenly has five more minutes. Four-panel Hammy & the Crew comic titled Closing Time. At the card-shop counter Hammy points at a clock and says, “Five minutes. Then we close.” Riggs, the rooster in his cream hardhat and safety glasses, holds up a sealed pack and asks, “One more pack?” Lemmy the owl presents clear card sleeves and says, “I brought sleeves.” In the final panel Hammy opens the pack while the crew gathers. Clyde, the brown horse holding keys, says, “I locked up ten minutes ago.” Footer: hammypuller.com. by @hammy_puller

A clean background, good lighting, and one rooster convinced the camera is pointed at the wrong subject. Four-panel comic. Hammy photographs a sleeved card on a small tabletop stand. He says, 'Need a shot of this card.' Riggs strikes a confident pose beside the table: 'How’s this?' Hammy says, 'You’re not in the photo.' Riggs looks at the screen and replies, 'There’s your problem.' by @hammy_puller

Same player, same pose, and Lemmy spotted the difference before Hammy finished asking.

Nothing gets past that clipboard. Four-panel Hammy & the Crew comic titled Same Card? Hammy holds two baseball cards and asks, “Same card?” Lemmy, a tawny owl in a work vest and blue shirt, says, “Not quite.” A close-up shows matching player art with a blue border numbered 07/99 and a gold border numbered 07/25. Hammy asks Lemmy across the shop, “You spotted that from there?” Holding his clipboard, Lemmy replies, “It was bothering me from here.” Footer: hammypuller.com. by @hammy_puller

Different job. Same steady hands.

Riggs respects the corners. Two-panel comic titled Steady Hands. Riggs, a russet rooster in an off-white hardhat, clear safety glasses and navy coveralls, confidently uses a red pipe wrench on a supported fitting and says, “Easy.” At a separate clean hobby table, he concentrates intensely while holding a baseball card already enclosed in a transparent sleeve above a larger clear protector. He says, “Nobody bump the table.” Warm lamps illuminate the navy and copper workshop scenes. Footer: Hammy Puller Card Co. by @hammy_puller
