In recognition of Overdose Awareness Month, we’re taking a stand against the rising tide of overdose deaths in Lafayette, particularly in our downtown area. Our mission is to distribute Narcan, fentanyl testers, and essential medical supplies to those in need. This initiative stems from the profound sorrow of losing friends and family members to overdoses. We are actively working to prevent further suffering by donating Narcan to local businesses, bars, and University of Lafayette fraternity houses, and are committed to teaching everyone, especially teenagers, how to use Narcan effectively and understand harm reduction strategies.We’re dedicated to reducing these tragedies by equipping our community with the tools to respond to emergencies and by educating our youth and residents on harm reduction. Through hands-on training, we teach how to use Narcan effectively and how to recognize and respond to overdoses, aiming to empower individuals to save lives.This initiative is just the beginning. With your support, we aim to make a lasting impact, reducing overdose deaths and fostering a culture of awareness and prevention. We envision a future where no family has to endure the pain of losing someone to an overdose.
