Binding takes a good long time, but I have gotten a lot faster than I used to be ! This used to take near an hour alone. by @hand.notebook

I finished up making my replacement notebook for my studies. It was a cold ish day when I did this, here in Scotland, so I took my work and my duvet to the sofa. My cat very happily relaxed underneath. Cozy little bear. #uk #bookbinding #book #booktok taken in Coalsnaughton by @hand.notebook

Sewing on the sofa is much more comfy than the set up I had in the kitchen #uk #bookbinding #book taken in Coalsnaughton by @hand.notebook

This book is nearly finished. Im hoping to do a big binding session on Sunday, and maybe...I will consider selling some online...not 100% sure on that. It seems a little too much of a jump right now. #bookbinding #uk #book taken in Stirling by @hand.notebook

With novice book binding, its very easy to make many tiny mistakes that can add up. On this notebook, it was the length of thread. I hadn't prepared it properly. And thus, I needed to start again. Other than the thread though, I was able to reuse all the parts.

I ruined this book properly, so after binding 4 signatures, I had to cut it all apart again. Though, this means I can add a few more signatures, which is probably a good idea. taken in Coalsnaughton by @hand.notebook

Making notebooks takes a lot of time. And its very easy to cause problems and be stuck back at the first hurdle again.

Officially my 20th post here. I think im doing okay. Today I mostly focused on binding the cover to a signature for my new notebook. There is a few stains on the paper, but thats okay, its for personal use. I can relax a little. taken in Stirling by @hand.notebook
