Shearing never stops - it just follows the seasons. While UK farms are busy in the autumn removing dags (dried dung) from their sheep prior to bringing in the rams - NZ farms are also dagging their flocks in the spring before the main shearers arrive.

Sheep shearers travel the globe following the seasons, as jobs like dagging are vital to protect animal welfare and keep the wool pristine. It's a non-stop commitment on both sides of the world to keep the global wool industry moving! 🐑✈️

Here @ulysses.valdes shares estilo mexicano style. The sheep lies flat on the ground and he uses long, rhythmic strokes starting at the flank to keep the sheep completely calm. 28 Swedish winters later, this kiwi shearer's handpiece is still buzzing! This season he encouraged us to join him in Sweden where they shear twice a year.
