Dejar atrás la infancia trae consigo nuevas preocupaciones, nuevas experiencias y nuevas inquietudes. La creciente preocupación por la higiene personal que trae consigo un nuevo romance, la celosa protección de las maquinillas de afeitar, el gel de ducha y la colonia por parte de hermanos merodeadores, el creciente deseo de privacidad y de un lugar donde guardar tus cosas personales y especiales. Todos podemos apreciar estos ritos de iniciación y fue con estos pensamientos en mente que me encargaron construir esta caja fuerte para un joven adolescente local.Tablas de pino montadas sobre patas de caoba con una bisagra robusta hecha con teca y yaque; terminada con una generosa capa de aceite de linaza, hacen que esta caja esté lista para usar toda la vida.Leaving childhood behind brings new concerns, new experiences and new concerns. The burgeoning preoccupation with personal hygiene brought about by a new romance, the jealous guarding of razors, shower gel and cologne from marauding siblings, the growing desire for privacy and somewhere to keep your personal, special things. These rites of passage we all can appreciate and it was with these thoughts in mind that I was commissioned to build this strong box for a local young teen. Pine boards with a robust hinge made with Teak and Yaque; finished with a generous coat of Linseed Oil make this box ready for a lifetime of use. #elyaque #creatividad #carpinteria #carpentry #creative #strongbox by @hand_solo101

El año 2025 trae consigo cambios, mayor variedad y nuevos desafíos. Esta vez, veré mis ideas convertidas en realidad gracias a una fantástica empresa local, @islaimport. Muchas gracias a Mauricio y a sus dos técnicos creativos y expertos, Jonathan y Ender. Gracias, chicos, por crear esta increíble pantalla de cine en casa retráctil y con control remoto.2025 is bringing change. Bringing increased variety and new challenges. This time seeing my ideas being made reality by a fantastic local company @islaimport, a huge thank you to Mauricio and his two creative and knowledgeable technicians Jonathan and Ender. Hace un par de semanas, un lunes por la noche, la policía llamó a la puerta. En el pasado, eso podría haberme asustado, pero ahora sé qué esperar. Al abrir la puerta, vi a 4 policías de pie alrededor de su coche y a una mujer vestida de civil que se acercaba. Después de las presentaciones, ella es la jefa de un puesto de control de la policía local, dice que necesita una caja para una botella de whisky y la necesita para el miércoles. Afortunadamente, he estado ocupado hasta ahora este año, así que, sintiéndome un poco presionado, le dije que podía hacerlo, pero que sería un poco complicado. En ese momento, ella dijo “pero necesito 12”. 😮🤯De todos modos, para resumir, hice el trabajo.A couple of weeks ago, on a Monday evening, the police came knocking. In the past that might have freaked me out but these days I know what to expect. Opening the door I see 4 cops stood around their car and a woman in plain clothes stepping forward. After introductions, she’s the boss of a local police checkpoint, she says that she needs a box for a whiskey bottle and needs it by Wednesday. Thankfully I have been busy so far this year so, feeling a little pressured, I said I could do it but it would be a bit of a challenge. Este soporte para pesas está hecho con cabilla de 1”, es extremadamente resistente y tiene ese aspecto retro.One of the things I love most about my job is the endless variety it provides. From office tables to gym equipment, whatever you have in mind, give me a call or shoot me a message. Mesa de sala hecho con Apamate, acabado con aceite de linaza y una mezcla de aceite de coco y cera de abejas para resaltar estas vetas tan bellas. Ayer tuve la oportunidad de asistir a un curso de Porcelanato Líquido y Pisos 3D en el Colegio de Ingenieros de Margarita. Fue un gran día y un aprendizaje de técnicas interesantes y útiles. Las fotos son algunas de nuestras obras de práctica, adivinen cual es mío 😉Gracias @josefaddoul por tu excelente enseñanza.Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend a Liquid Porcelain and 3D Flooring course at the College of Engineers in Margarita. It was a great day and a learning experience of interesting and useful techniques.
