Monsieur Voltaire is held in my respect for his intrepid courage.
In the feudal times, it was almost suicidal to punch men in power. Jab, cross, hook, cross… he kept punching… uppercut, uppercut, body shots… His relentless punching, as a matter of course, made him pay high prices such as public humiliation, imprisonment and exile. After all those payments he asked the authorities nonchalantly, “Are you done?”
Lord, l love this literary boxer!

In recent years. Thanks to remarkable progress in forensic science, a number of cold cases have been solved. A crime committed 3 decades ago? 4 decades ago? Doesn’t matter! Even a single hair could be sufficient to arrest the criminal.
Although unable to resuscitate the victims, their bereaved families might be able to find a little solace.

My humble dedication to forensic scientists and dogged detectives for their outstanding performances.

Edmond Dantes came back with a burning lust for revenge. Despite the sincere warning given by Abbé Faria, he launched his adamant business. In the course of hitting his targets, however, his vengeful spirit gradually turned into salvation. He got urged to save unhappy youths from unwanted marriages, a victimised princess from misery, a hard-up family from bankruptcy… At some point, he realised he was saving those people in order to save himself.

Anyone can write a story of shallow vengeance. Only an eminent writer can write about a man rising up from the abyss of wrath to the sublimity of hope.

The Count of Monte Cristo is the first class entertainment presented by the first class entertainer aka the eminent writer aka the sublime star in literature.

Someone stated somewhere, “l haven’t met a strong person who has an easy past.” I couldn’t agree with this statement more.

When it comes to matrimony, a difficult procedure may be necessary to tie a strong knot. Objection by parents, jealous attacks by rivals, misconception, mishap etc…

My humble dedication to newly wedded couples who have overcome all those difficulties to reach the altar. Every happiness ahead!

I brought three jars of honeys to the high tea table, and lined them up before the little girl.

Girl: … (mesmerised)
Kathy: Hey, do you believe in a fairy tale?
Girl: l do. I love fairy tales. Mom always reads me to sleep.
Kathy: Well, l have three friends who can transform themselves into bees.
Girl: … (awe-struck)
Kathy: Queen bee in-house, Queen bee outstationed and Commander bee.
Girl: Two ladies and one gent!
Kathy: A brilliant young lady like you deserves to taste them all. Shall we go one by one?
Girl: … (nodding excitedly)
Kathy: You want to start with this one.

The little girl was about to take a spoonful of Queen bee in-house honey into her tea cup, when someone rang my doorbell.

Kathy: Oh, so soon. I bet it’s your mom.
Girl: … (radiates joy)
Kathy: Go fetch her! Tell her to join us for tea, will you?
Girl: Okay!

The girl ran to the door to greet her mom.

A little girl in blue stripe dress was standing on my porch, looking anxious.

Kathy: Hi, sweetie! May l help you?
Girl : l’m looking for my mom.
Kathy: Your mom is on the way. Will be here soon.
Girl : … (relieved)
Kathy: Would you care for a cup of tea on my balcony? Got some biscuits and cakes if you like.
Girl : Can l use honey in my tea?
Kathy: Sure you can. Come on in! Let’s enjoy high tea waiting for your mom, shall we?
Girl : Thank you!
