Hands On Primary is about bringing together creative learning with art history, other subjects, storytelling and of course making art!

As an art teacher I believe in structure which is free enough to be yourself in.

Practically this means we can learn from other artists, cultures, illustrators and storytellers. We can explore how they worked, try new techniques and discover new ideas. But we do not need to create projects which all look the same.

I see so many free resources which are just AI slop. So yes, free is great (especially as life is so expensive). But free can and should also be useful and considered when it comes to your child's learning. So here are some of our free resources, and what might make them useful for you. 💙

Easy wins! ❤️

As a creative mama, I loved doing these activities with my toddler. Of course toddlers don't need you to organise elaborate activities. But sometimes it's nice to set up some different kinds of play and these activities are all early forms of mark making, printing or sculpture. by @hands.on.primary
