The weather looks nice and crisp for our event this Saturday at Hanging Mountain!

Come hangout with the WMCC and @raggedmtnfdn as we celebrate our partnership to conserve Hanging Mountain. There will be a group doing trail work to finish up the South Wall, a climbing meet up, a scavenger hunt, and a cook out in the parking lot at 4:00pm sponsored by @berkshireboulders. Sign up in advance for the trail day or climbing meet up, otherwise, just come to climb and hangout with us for the cook out. Find the sign up link in our linktree or on our website: climbgneiss.org/events

3/13 condition report: getting better but still winter. It's snowing right now. Parking lot about 6" deep with a still sizable berm, you could crash through it with determination. Trails vary from totally clear to ice sheets to running water to boot deep snow. Lots of fresh rock fall too. Wouldn't recommend. by @hangingmountainreport

The snowbank at the entrance to hanging mountain is still very big, and no one has driven into the parking lot in months. Either bring a plow or park at the army corps/ mdc and walk over. Also, everything is very wet! @wmcc_climb_gneiss by @hangingmountainreport

Peregrine falcons have set up for the season on the squirrel wall at Hanging Mountain. So the squirrel wall is closed to climbing until their chicks fledge. Signage will be put up once some of this snow melts (still about 15" on the ground and the driveway is not plowed) @wmcc_climb_gneiss @mass.wildlife @berkshire_bird_observatory by @hangingmountainreport
