Sometimes less is more.

I love the simplicity of this thick black brushstroke and at the same time, how much beauty and depth it can hold. At first glance, you might look at this painting and think, “Oh, that’s easy. Just a black stroke.” But what you don’t see as a viewer are all the layers underneath. I painted over this piece four times. Every time, I wanted more. More color, more marks, more movement. Yet all of those layers are what make the painting what it is today. If you look closely, you can see the traces of the process, the paint hidden beneath the surface, the history of every decision that was made along the way. Isn’t that the beauty of art? by @hanna.buckel

I found this old frame and thought it deserved a new life. I love the contrast between abstract art and such a classic, traditional frame. by @hanna.buckel

„Around our dinner table“

When I look at this painting, I can almost feel the life around the dinner table. Children excitedly telling their parents about their day, food being passed from one side of the table to the other, laughter filling the room, and people simply sharing life together. by @hanna.buckel
