On September 24th, 2026, I got to marry my best friend in the beautiful country of Portugal, surrounded by our closest friends and family.

I couldn’t have envisioned a more perfect sunrise ceremony. There was something so fitting about starting our marriage as the sun came up over the ocean — just the two of us, our favorite people, and a moment that felt entirely ours.

Trent and I met as kids. I was 14 and he was 16. From the very beginning, distance was always somewhere in the middle of our story. Life took us in different directions, but somehow we always found our way back to each other.

If you love something, let it go. If it loves you, it will return.

Eleven years after that first summer night, we found ourselves standing on the edge of Portugal getting married exactly the way we wanted to — quietly, intentionally, and surrounded by the people who have loved us along the way.

Portugal felt especially meaningful to us. I’m half Mexican, Trent is Portuguese, and we knew one of our families would have to travel either way. So instead of choosing one side, we decided to make everyone fly somewhere that represented both of us. Mexico felt like the obvious choice, but Portugal felt like ours.

Planning a wedding, by myself, in a country I’ve never visited was not easy. And somehow, it was even more perfect than we could have ever imagined.

Two kids who met by chance, grew up, found their way back to each other, and finally ran away together 🤍🇵🇹 taken in Lisbon, Portugal by @hannah.arr

BEST TRIP EVER! 🥳🍾🥂✨🇵🇹

How did we get so lucky to experience this with our favorite people? 🥹🤍

Still so emotional thinking about this trip and feeling beyond blessed that so many of our favorite people made the journey to Portugal to celebrate Trent and me.

I don’t think we’ll ever be able to fully explain how special it was having everyone together in one place, making memories, exploring somewhere new, and celebrating this next chapter with us. I know we’ll be talking about this trip for the rest of our lives and looking back at these moments wishing we could do it all over again!!

Portugal, you were everything and more! And to everyone who came, thank you for making it unforgettable!! 🤍✨🥂 taken in Portugal by @hannah.arr
